Actually, the discussion about Reddit is FAR more interesting than Niko no longer being an employee of PGI.

...AND...

I really have no opinion one way or the other as to whether or not his departure is an actual benefit or not. All it means is at some point in the future, someone else will probably officially get the title of "Community Manager".

Niko's presence or lack there of have zero affect on things I care about:

Game play
How much fun I have playing

ACTUALLY... This thread is about Niko no longer being employed at PGI. Nobody here cares that you don't like reddit. If you want to discuss reddit, please do so in the appropriate section of the forums labelled "Off-Topic".

I have no real opinion about the person Niko.
I also do not know what he did and did not on reddit.

But I´d like to ask PGI and/or the next community manager to keep any information or communication with the players in one place. Preferably this place here.

I´m tired of hunting tidbits of info or trying to keep up with the latest discussions on 3rd party sites.

"Russ/Paul said this and that on twitter."
"On reddit you can see the preview of X."

No, thank you.

amen
It's tiring to keep up with all the announcements when you have to try and track 5 different sources, that doesn't count the fact that you have to follow a number of individual twitter accounts in some cases.

I'm not opposed to PGI using multiple platforms to communicate with their playerbase/public but all information should definitely be available on the mwomercs forums.

I'd just like to point out that this is one of the things our community managers often try to increase. The fact that it is still this so low after all this time does have me worried about what the CMs there are actually made to do. One would expect that this would be at 500,000+ by now at the very least (both through paid boosts and Facebook campaigns/giveaways/gateway woobox code dispensing etc - Like us on FB and get a free cockpit item or free premium or mechbay or some such).

Garth was writing flavor text and Niko was handling Customer Support. I seriously believe that you guys need to talk and lay out the goals/targets/tasks of your next CM on a regular basis when you hire him/her. Customer support is a 100% different job altogether and your CM should not be handling that.

Consult professional Community Managers from other gaming companies before you hire so that you know what you need to get and what benefits to expect from hiring such a person.

Many community members are too old to even bother with facebook.

I realize that a high like number might be good for the company as a form of advertisment, or an argument when talking to other companies, but maybe this is simply the wrong target group.

I stopped using Facebook when I realized that I wasn't a 16 y/o girl.
