Where the hell did I ask for a refund.

I stated I was having trouble with the Hellbringer because they felt squishy and seemed really bad. I even admit it is still early but that my initial impression of them was poor.

Geez, dramatic much?

Actually dramatic might be "Hey, my mech is DOA even though it's only been out 12 hours or less" but then I'm no film critic so who knows.

Glad many people were talking sense talking sense before I got here. I got all giddy when my favourite Clan mech was announced, and been coming up with ideas for it since then. As people have pointed out, it has laservomit with decent heating, ECM, and an entire side of the mech to use as a shield, alongside a fairly generous speed for a heavy mech. Now add the fact that BAP's ability to counter ECM was just nerfed and you've got one of the better mechs in the game. Only thing I'm hearing that is working against it so far is that it may be suffering from Awesome Syndrome. Other than that, its got a lot to work with.

Torso pitch makes me a little sad, but it seems solid otherwise.

Not the ideal Wub Chassis.

I was thinking of putting wub on it, but you couldn't fit as many DHS on it like a 7 CERMED build.

Rare moments in wishing Endo+FF were an option.

Sounds like a case of fatal stupidity.

ECM is one ton. Nothing is more valuable than that right now.

What does that mean? What is going to get fixed?

Does he mean the CT hitbox is too big, but the others are alright?

Exactly. Last match. 97 damage is all I managed before I was put out of the match. I was on HPG and briefly popped over the top to see what was going on and before I could get back into cover I was orange CT armor with almost zero hits to the side torso depsite torso twisting like a mad man. Took a couple Long Range ER LL shots that exposed yellow toros and then the very next mech I ran into cored me in one alpha. Honestly felt like I had half the armor I should have. Hell I am running 70 armor on my CT for gods sake which is only 6 armor less than my Timber Wolf runs so I shouldn't be this squishy.

I haven't played the patch yet (downloading right now, but still have some homework to do...), although already there seems to be unfavorable impressions of the robot.

In the event that they're true, how the heck did they mess up the Loki of all mechs? You know, that heavy with access to the single best omnipod in the whole game (3E + ECM left torso, basically it's carrying AN ENTIRE KIT FOX on its left side), good speed (same as other Clan heavies, faster than almost any IS heavy), decent tonnage (65 tons is an okay place to be, neither amazing nor bad), decent pod space (23.5-24 tons is workable, especially with lasers), good hardpoint layouts...

You'd expect it to inherit hitboxes similar to the Suckoner (which is a fairly durable robot), given that the majority of its body model was taken from the Suckoner, but apparently not.

Wonky CT hitbox aside, I'm really liking the Hellbringer. My 2xUAC5/7xERSL build worked far better than expected. And, thanks to 2.5xXP, I've already moved on to getting Basics in another Hellbringer (UAC20, 2xMG, 2xERML, 1xERLL).

The 2.5xXP is also going to do a LOT to accelerate these mechs up to double basic status. By tomorrow evening I expect these suckers to be wreaking all sorts of havoc.

For all those DoA folks out there.....

No

If I can play it effectively unmastered... then those who pilot heavies for a living have a new love, averaging 500 ish damage now in 6 matches. Not DoA

I've won more than lost so far, pretty tough mech. Feels pretty sluggish even when mastered out, kinda how the Maddog is sluggish even though it has the Timberwolfs nimble lower chassis and is lighter. I like the high energy mount above the cockpit canopy, good for CERLLAS annoyance.

Well this might explain the issue. A screwed up CT hitbox goes a long way toward the issues I seem to be experiencing. Hurrah....there is hope yet hehe.

Well I am glad they are on top of it. Nothing stinks worse than getting a brand new mech only to find it is still a work in progress. Maybe I will testing grounds only until it is fixed so as not sour my 1st battle christening.

I kind of feel that way myself except that this 2.5 XP weekend is too good to pass up for leveling it.

This seems to happen fairly often. At least in the case of the Hellbringer I feel confident that the hit box issues are not due to geometry. Once they roll out that fix I'm sure the issue will be greatly resolved.

After all, I think 5% made all the difference in the world for the Dire Wolf.
