Owell: The hellbringer isnt weak or doa or so. Its just not as op or dominant as the Timberwolf. And since it has ecm i welcome the current hellbringer config however the ct hitbox could be slightly reduced.
Anyways my impression of the Hellbringer threads so far is (6 hellbinger threads alive atm so far) that many ppl tend to think that once they paid dollars for a mech, they do think it has to be better than other cbills mechs.

the hellbringer hit boxes are completely broken
shoot it anywhere on the mech, and it will register as a CT hit...and seemingly when the damage transfers, it amplifies..or the CT structure values on it aren't set properly

i consider your post as exeggerated. Maddog side torso super easy. Direwolf side trso super easy. orion huge ct aswell..Same huge torso on the dragon
If we are talking about hitboxes then pls lets not ignore the other mechs with hitbox disadvantages and most ofem work fine

Your wrong. It is very weak because it has zero durability. The minute anyone decides to fire at you, your going down. As it stands it is very, very close to DOA. Honestly once I get them elited, I am done with them and wouldn't even be playing them now except for the 2.5x XP.
Hate to say this but if a mech doesn't get played because of its flaws, then that is the very definition of DOA.
Also it has nothing to do with spending money. I look at it as I paid for early access and a 30% bonus not that is it suppose to be a better mech. What I want however is a mech that I find at least good enough and fun enough that I am going to play it fairly often. For example my Phoenix Battlemaster is my top played mech yet I don't think anyone would say it is the best mech in the game. However I do well in it and more importantly have fun with it. I am not however having a bit of fun with the Hellbringer.

He said theres a issue due to the back torso gets registered as front when shot at. He explicitely said that the hitboxes besides that bugs are kinda fine

PGI has acknowledged that there is a problem with the hitboxes....so its not an exaggeration

Sadly I can confirm that issue. I don't know if its prominent ct, a la dragon, or if there is severe issue about hitboxes
I put 1 point armor in both arms... because quite never arms are hit, despite torso twist.
That said, a kdr 3.33 is good for me. But still... ! It would be better with a normal CT.
I died 11 times, and ALWAYS for CT, with ST quite clean.

that was me
your 6 MGs cut through my CT before my 3 53 point alphas cut through yours
there may have been some of the persistent hit reg issue with lasers present too

You had a good loadout that would have prevailed at longer range.

Even completely perpendicular shots from the very rear will still register front CT damage, even though the front is not visible at all.
The hit registration/hitboxes are not only messed up, they are completely broken.
PGI did absolutely ZERO playtesting if they didn't catch this. This game is still beta, no matter what they claim.

The Stalker doesn't have a large CT.
Also, the Onion has relatively uniform hitboxes between its CT and ST's, with both being fairly easy to peg. The Cat and Dragon are aging robots that have been replaced by others a long time ago, well before the Clam Invasion. The Jenner has almost always been either one of the top lights (notable exception of the Lagshield Raven 3L days) or the top light (prior to Firestarters).

yeah...my seismic saw you coming...so I tried to get you while the other 22 mechs were fighting on the other side of the hill

Which is a major problem because they aren't even close to fine. Unless damage is getting transferred from other places besides the rear torso then the geometry needs changed.
Honestly I think PGI did this on purpose because they were afraid that the Hellbringer would be OPed with ECM. I think the CT hitboxes are about 40% larger than they should be covering the area under the upper shoulder boxes, instead of that being ST hitboxes like it should be, but until PGI determined if ECM was going to make it OPed, they erred on the side of caution. I am hoping that is the case anyway because if they leave it as is, it is a DOA mech for me at least. I mean if I don't play it because of its bad hitboxes then how can I consider it anything but DOA.

It is worse than a Dragon though. Seriously. I am not joking in the least.
