Wouldn't a mix of all the attitudes be more accurate and productive ?
I would think so, but I do not believe they would want to deal with hostile players or overly cynical ones. After all a year and a half back they did have death threats. o.O;
I would, however, like to think that they would want to have a few of the more critical 'on the fence' players who both like the game but really would prefer it to steer closer to Battletech rather than farther away.
Old-timer's rant.
Spoiler
I realize this is a Mechwarrior game. But, honestly, after playing Megamek (BT on the computer) at length, there is far more 'simulation' in BT than has ever been in any mechwarrior game ever made. And of all the Mechwarrior games, MWO is on the lower end of 'simulations' and much higher on the end of 'video game'. It didn't start out that way. It became that way. It lost a lot of love from me in doing so.
This is why I loved the closed beta so much, it was so much closer to a simulation. Delayed pinpoint convergence meant very limited pinpoint issues. Yes the Front Loaded Damage was a bit of an issue but without the pinpoint issues and a nearly impossible synchronization between arm and torso weaponry meant that mechs had a genuine longevity to them. The delays in commands -- which turned out to be unintentional but at the time unavoidable lag -- actually felt like I was in a battlemech instead of playing a metal soldier on the field. If I saw a mech standing on uneven terrain (like a hill), the mech would have one leg propped up and it looked awesome. Now they just do the typical 1998-style 'it is just floating there with a leg in the air'. We had cool, delayed ammo explosions where you could hear the popping and clanging of firing ammunition slamming against your armor from the inside as parts systematically and slowly came off giving you those last few seconds of valor to make your death count. It could even have given you the time necessary to eject the ammunition while it was exploding! We had heat penalties; not ghost heat penalties but actual damage taken for running above 80% heat. Not to the mech's body but to your equipment. Heatsinks that melted. Weapons that broke. Ammo that exploded because you are too hot. And shutdowns mattered. My god did shutdowns truly matter. Now, "Oops, shut down... Beep, back on in less than 1 second." Is it any wonder why so much firepower is boated at once without a care in the world? LRM boats used to be as good as dead if not escorted and when they overheat (because it could take up to 5 to 6 seconds to start back up). Now they shut down, start back up immediately and spam again.
I miss the good old days. Hopefully CW is as cool as Paul's latest update makes it out to be ("I won't spoil what happens when waiting between your death and your next deployment. You will have to find out for yourself. It's pretty cool.")
My guess is "Ooo, I'm riding inside a dropship (possibly booting up during the ride)." Which would be a greatly welcomed touch; we've been asking for that since summer 2012.

A good attitude with a different perspective is better than a Poisonous Attitude that only wants to bring things down. So for instance you want someone who is constructive with criticism rather than be using terms like "underhive".
