I've suggested quirking non-combat weapons in a previous post, but I really think this is worth bringing up again for a specific weapon: The TAG Laser.
I would love to see more missile-boat or scout 'mechs, respectively, start to get quirks that impact the TAG Laser's range, or even it's lock-duration bonuses.
It'd be a great way to offer a unique quirk to these 'mechs rather than straight missile buffs, since the TAG is a very, very useful piece of equipment that I think is highly underappreciated in general. It's also IMO a vital piece of equipment for anything carrying LRMs to not leave you defenseless to ECM.
Anyway, I'd love to see some 'mechs gain TAG quirks for sure!

Generic laser buffs work on the TAG currently as is.

I like the idea of compounded buffs for TAG. It would allow scouts to use TAG from outside the enemy's own radar range. Non-ECM scouts would have a purpose to exist.

the quirk it needs is being able to be toggled on and off like ecm or ams

Give quirks to everything. Movement, certain features that promote role warfare, etc. Which includes quirking Narc, ECM, BAP, etc to usefulness.

Huh, that's actually very interesting if the Laser Range quirk impacts it. I did not think it would so thanks for letting me know, actually. Would be nice to see it get specific TAG quirks (like to lock duration, group tightening %, etc) though!

100% behind that, absolutely. It would make me very happy to see a Raven 3L have positive quirks to ECM and BAP, for example.
