So I looked at the Faction Contracts, and the Clans are included..??

I thought the Clans didn't use Mercs..??
I haven't been keeping up on that info, so could someone please enlighten me on the situation.
I must have missed and or not read something I should have.

Ya its odd shows both clan and IS factions for me and our unit is Mercs.

I thought technically everyone was a Merc? So you can side with any faction for a contract length and switch when it's finished. I assumed this was the same for a clan or IS faction.

dont think of it as merc contracts. think of it as unit allegiance

You are better being part of a Clan Dagger Star to be the closest thing to a "Clan Merc" unit.

So even though it says Merc contract, by signing a contract, thats the only way to join the faction?
