When I click on a planet, it doesn't show any of the things it should like edit drop ship, defend, etc etc.... It only says "no contract available" What's up with that?
So if I'm in a merc unit, and my unit has not selected a faction/contract, I can't even drop solo???

i beleive that is correct. your unit leader has to assign your faction and duration as far as i know

To be fair - this is COMMUNITY warfare. It's intended that you drop with your unit.
Probably wouldn't be terribly fun as a solo right now anyway.
