But we need a Community manager, I think. We need someone from PGI acting as the primary link between players and devs, especially now that we have Community Warfare. One thing that always impressed me with EVE, although I never played it, was their ability to make player-based events a part of the game. You could read about major EVE events on the biggest Norwegian online newspapers, and there would be a video of some major battle or other event that recently took place.
Even though I never played EVE, I was very impressed by the fact that the developers really embraced and used the actions of the players for great synergy. The players start a conflict, the developers spread the news via website updates, YouTube videos, etc. More players are aware of the conflict and want to participate, and there's more material for the developers to use in future reports.
I'm really missing a community manager who provides weekly reports on current events. Showing us which planets have changed hands, which factions are struggling, which units are setting their mark on the galaxy map, etc. (And of course, I also think we need communication between the devs and the community to look closer at how LRMs, ECM and radar interact, how the UI needs to be fixed, and some other important issues, but people aren't thinking about it right now, due to CW being very fresh and exciting)
I know it's still early, so maybe PGI has plans for this. I just want to put this out there and say that it's needed, anyway.
EDIT:
Since Deathlike brought it up:
