The fact you had to add a qualifier to that statement shows what is happening. "You can hear everything just fine..." means you can hear it well enough to get by. However if you play without music you can actually hear someone "stompy roboting" in your area from a remarkable distance away. I've actually left points on Conquest and circled around someone as they ran up to the point and shot them in the back guiding myself in by the noise of their footsteps alone.

I gain a bunch of situational awareness from sound as well as being able to tell when weapons are recycling from the patterns of sound. I couldn't imagine removing one of my possible ways of detecting enemies in a combat game.

Agreed, But I notice if my rhythm goes south after a series of bad matches some loud fusion/rock gets me back on the stick. Then its back to listening to the normal noises in here.

Also, look up Rickard Dekkard on youtube. Great musician (Did Auto Assault before they folded).

Finally, when I need a pick up, nothing beats old school Crystal Method.
