is AMD worth the cost reduction in a build?im building a new pc next month and was thinking about taking a fx-6300 to save so cash for a more powerful gpu.Also if not overclocking is it worth it to buy a i5 4690,or is a 4670 a better choice?

I have an amd fx 8320 and it performs great with this game. Everyone says it's cpu bound but my cpu usage with this game is minimal. I say amd and spend more on your video card.

lol Nope, Intel for MWO, sure the FX-83xx Series might be OK with a 4.5-5GHz+ OC and some tweaks, but if you don't want the headache of OCing or Tweaking, Intel Wins in the long run.

my guess is that low usage is because 4 or so cores (The Fake Cores) are hardly doing anything or you have low settings.

i may go amd,and use the saving for a gtx 970

This game is extremely cpu bound but doesn't multithread well (so the overal cpu utilisation shows pretty low values). Intel cpu's have less but much faster cores, so they perform much better in this game.

i5 4460 and a not too expensive motherboard is a good option, if you want to spend more I'd get an overclockable i5 and a z97 board.

thats the thing is i dont want to OC due to warranty,mind you i do play mwo alot but this is something ill be playing other such as gta 5

Don't, every test shows (much) better performance in this game for intel haswell cpu's. get an i5 and an r9 290 instead.

In person I've seen very little performance gain vs cost for intel. My buddy has i5 something and has minimal frames over mine. Maybe 5-10. Same gpu as me and same amount of ram, his set at 1866 mine at 1600 mhz. It's your rig but I think money can be better spent else where

I have the AMD FX™-8120 Eight-Core Processor and I hate my MWO life lol Chugs along like a potatoe.. every other game I play is fine, but when I bought the thing MWO was my main game and it just sucks. Once I'm not so financially focused on other things in life, I will switch it right away.

If MWO is not your 'main thing' then going with AMD and GTX 970 is the best version for you, since you are obviously on a tight budget. By the time you build your AMD rig and get a load of it and figure out it's strengths and weakness, the next great thing would come around and you'd accumulate more money in your pocket and you'd be glad that you took your time with the 'red team' to get there.

850 is max, a 650 ps case and os already,would the 3.4 intel i5 not be better?

I have an old i5 750 intel Lynnfield @3.9 and it performs better than my friends brand new AMD rig @4.5 ghz. Intel or go home.
