and you have any data to support your supposition that it's mostly "Group A"?

The only data I can find on that is the very incomplete picture from forum posts, where there are substantially more people wanting speed urbies and or, moderate spee dones, than the ones howling to go 32 kph.

So basically, until you find data to back your own claims, you are just trolling, with this line of reasoning.

I'm the one claiming there is insufficient data despite your pathetic attempt to suggest otherwise. Do you always just randomly accuse people of doing the opposite of what they are saying? English much?

The Urbanmech can be made competitive by giving it a 180-200 engine cap. then giving it proper quirks.
Fast firing ACs and decent survivability.

so we'll get the news monday then. if it's really close and not ggclose then two full days of sales should put it over the top i would think. then probably a big lull until the last day or so of the sale for when they start filling in the quirk/engine blanks once it's over the top.

I imagine once the give away happens we will reach the goal, because some people are waiting to see if they get one for free before they buy it.

and a fair number are waiting til the Engine data is decided. Slow or fast...or a reasonable in between.

I agree ballistic cooldown and some tanky IS quirks are probably going to be the "needed" ingredients.

Plus emphasis on heavy ACs in quirks will reduce the MG spammers, and thus the compulsion to over engine the MEch, hopefully.

I can see your points however there is no reason they cannot make the mech competitive. It does not have to be meta to be used.

To be used? No.

To see any reasonably heavy, persistent sales? Yes.

I think just giving it cooldown will help, since machine guns don't benefit from that. could use some energy range buffs to help the small laser.
for example:

15% ballistic cooldown
15% AC10 cooldown
10% energy range
10% small laser range
10% energy cooldown
10% small laser range

And while I am excited it looks like it will be a reality, I bet it would have sold twice as many back in 1012, early 2013, before 3PVGate, etc. A lot of the CB and missing Founders were the target audience for Urbie.

And reality is, unless it somehow comes out the "meta" Mech, it is not a mech that will have a huge amount of residual sales. Most "Battletech Diehards" already know the game, and either play it, or have left. Most non die hards, will simply never "get" it. So I fully understand Russ outlook on the presale, because let's face it, it might as well be a limited run, and then stop production. I don't foresee heavy volume past the intro.

Only time I really expect to see them move again would be a possible Hero mech.

I actually agree with what you are saying here. I'm the only person I know out of two different units* still playing and I took a long break as well due to things not going in directions I enjoyed. I'm seeing some positive movement towards more of what I enjoy so I'm giving things another chance. This Urbanmech offer is one of those positive things and I want to reward it.

*Mostly all grognards of tabletop. It got down to only two of us playing by 3PV and the other guy suffered a critical existence failure a while back, so he won't be returning.

been over 24 hours without a sitrep. Asked Russ a bit ago, he may or may not get back to me. My expectation is that by Saturday Noon, we will have hit goal. If we haven't I actually would worry that we will. This, was always going to be a very front loaded sale, IMO.

And while I am excited it looks like it will be a reality, I bet it would have sold twice as many back in 1012, early 2013, before 3PVGate, etc. A lot of the CB and missing Founders were the target audience for Urbie.

As others have said, and what is likely the case, is we will see an influx of sales on the 27th/28th, with a surge towards the last few days, as engine size is confirmed, and MoonUnitBetas contest ends.

There's a good 500-600 people in there, with a significant number of people just waiting to see if they win, so probably 100+ potential packages waiting there.

There's effectively zero reason to not release it for sale after that, even if rarely bought, as the work is done and if they make even one more sale for MC, it makes it worth putting out for general purchase.

That. Let's assume I'm wrong, and its a 50-50 split of fast(180-200 rated) and slow urbies.

If they have a 'fast' engine cap, slow urbie lovers can still go slow, fast urbie lovers can go 'fast'.

If its got a low engine cap, only slow urbie fans are happy, and the mech quite likely doesn't get made.

There's a LOT of posts from people wanting roughly slow-clan-light speeds (180-200 range), so that's a big bunch.

Without them (us) you probably wouldn't see an Urbie happen at all.

All because you don't want *other people* to enjoy their Urbies wrong.
