I really hope he goes 200. Not for speed - I think KFX speed at 180 would be fine - but to get that 8th internal 2.0 DHS. Without that, you have to spend 3 slots and get less cooling for it.

200 also works, 180 is just my "minimum" bottom bar.

For my own Smurfywarrior experiments, however, I have a hard time finding tonnage for pewpew/dakkadakka even with the 180. The most I can manage are things like 2 ERLL + 4 MGs, AC/2 + 4 ML, and AC/5 + 4 SL (I really want a Small Laser range quirk on this mech!). The critslots seem to fit in tightly but they work. Not having hands or LAA helps.

Basically, with a 200, you can mount Ferro Fibrous as well as Endosteel. That nets roughly .75t freed, given the internal heat sink means you're only up .25t spent for 20 points of rating.

@200XL, ES, FF, and -13pts armor, you've got 13.5t free and 7 slots.
@180XL, ES, and -2pts armor, you've got... 13.5t free and 18 slots.

Well, I stand corrected. I should have tested that more thoroughly first. I didn't realise it was as close as that.

Yeah, I'd be good with a 180XL: As long as it does 100+kph, so you can outpace all but the fastest Mediums, that's good enough.

I'll grant that the screwed up heat model (and screwed up heat sink model) in this game makes the DHS feel necessary, but how about we not spit on the very idea of the Urbanmech by making it even remotely able to move that fast.

Try a Spider instead, you can cheaply make an Urbesque Spider, that has the IS gear for a better comparison.
