The 4xMG builds appeal to me as well. I can design a fairly decent fighter fox with 4xMGs.

I'm assuming there will be some kind of negative to using the arm over the Prime one?

Less arm agility.

-5 degrees max arm movement angle (pitch)
-5% arm pitch rate
-5% arm yaw rate

Don't let Bishop hear you saying that he'll call the Deputy to come & arrest you ;)

In seriousness though, I think thats what stings me the most about this. The urbanmech is *such* a good deal. Theyve really gone out of their way to make the package decent value.

Want some more sting? How about the fact that everyone that has a Timberwolf already purchased the 2 missile hard point torso omni pods. Then Inner Sphere players complained and they took them away and forced us to use the hard locked jump jet pods instead. And now they are trying to sell us back those same omni pods on the Timberwolf D., albeit without the extra energy and ballistic hard point.

The Cute Fox additions were one of the only things that caught my eye. Well, other than the IFR-D maybe, maybe, giving Ferret drivers just enough E to make the thing work. Will have to experiment with that when I get home.

Anyways. Cute Fox Mess

Most of an Ember but with ECM and triple AMS (and forty-five klicks slower, of course). Might prove a reasonably effective little escort support unit, even if you'll have to be judicious with the AMS toggle. Could also sacrifice the AMS systems/ammo for some extra heat sinks if you like, but I categorically refuse to run a Cute Fox without ECM. If I want to gimp myself that hard I'll drive one of my Adders instead. This thing, though...I could see this being fun. May indulge in a new Cute Fox when I get home even though all I actually need is one C left arm pod.

Too much MG ammo... you only really need 1.5 tons with 4xMG. Better to upgrade to 3xMPL, lower the MG to 1.5 tons of ammo, dump those extra jump jet legs for Prime legs to add another 2 tons, and put some DHS on it to keep the MPLs running more often. I would personally drop the AMS all together and change the rig to something like this though... It has gotten me a few 1000+ damage games.

Link - Dropping AMS, going with 2xML, 1xLPL

It kind of ticks me off that the Ice Ferret-D arm wasn't included with Clan Wave 2. It's ONE ARM. Not worth $16. The same with the Gargoyle and Mist Lynx arms. The Gargoyle isn't even out for MC yet, and they released another variant. Pretty shifty if you ask me.

$25, $16 and $9 for each arm, a total of $50 for 3 ARMs. Ridiculous.

Give me a light 'Mech with 6x jet capacity and I'm going to put six jump jets on it :P Lights are the only thing left in this game that JUMP when you tell them to jump. As for too much MG ammo, though...ehh, probably. Cute Foxes don't generally live long enough to burn through three tons of MG ammo, I suppose. I'm just remembering straining two tons of ammo supply in my Ember but then I remember that the Ember is a Firestarter and not a Cute Fox. Firestarters are immortal, Cute Foxes are not.

I'll have to tweak around with it, see what I can figure out.

For me, the issue is, nothing in it is worth buying.
The only thing particularly unique or interesting is the DWF-S, and that's $28. :/
Otherwise, it's nice pods here and there + a unique Warhawk CT, but ultimately it doesn't bring anything to the table.

My personaly summary is
Spoiler
Though once the MLX-A arms, KFX-C LA, ADR-B LA, IFR-D arms, SCR-A LT (pos RT), MDD-C RA, DWF-S STs and Head, I'll totally buy those 11-12 components!

As to builds!
This will be my new go-to Kit Fox - KFX-PRIME
Just a straight upgrade of +2MGs to my standard build.

It runs pretty hot, but I'll give MLX-PRIME a whirl.

And then Smurfy stopped working for me tonight

The IFR I'd try would likely be 5CMPL, or a mix of CLPL, SPL and/or CMPL.
The Nova torso would just go on my main Nova, because it'll likely have a boost and I only run 2 LRM launchers anyway.

The Direwolf B, with DWF-B would be nice.
Though DWF-B, while a bit light on ammo, would be pretty damn fun.

Building a pop-tarting DWF is bad, mkay?

It is bad and you should feel bad for thinking it.

I don't think anything but the Timberwolf, Direwolf, Stormcrow, and Warhawk have benefited from this.

Lynx is pointless.
Adder is largely useless
Summoner is useless
Ferret helps...barely.
Nova pointless.
Maddog..kinda I guess.
Kit fox largely pointless

4 ERML + 4 MG Cute Fox catches my attention, and I might actually try it when it's out for spacebucks.

Meh. It's a slow Ember without the borked hit boxes.

I.e. a bad version of maybe the 3rd best Firestarter.

So, it's been noted...for the most part....not terribly impressed with the Clan Reinforcements.

The TBR-D is indeed nice, and who doesn't want a Flying Whale?

But for the most part, you get...maybe one single location pod that is decent...and in many cases not even that (looking at you, Summoner). And oftentimes they are redundant or ignore the glaring flaws in the design (Gargoyle and Mist Lynx, anyone)

Still, the joy of the mechlab means that we can still scrape some diamond in the rough, and I have found a few fun builds to try.

My new Go-to Mad Dog build:
but this could get wicked......

And a fun http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6b8b32d06cf13be

and a nasty little point defense KFX-S

lead the pack for me. How about you?

I got the Gargoyle C, and basically made a Supe-...er, an Ubernova with it. 12 CERML, more heatsinks, more armor, same speed...just lost the jump jets and the 10% reduction in energy heat generation. Better hitboxes too, IMHO.

Well, one of the quirks is highlighted as a buff @ smurfy... when it is clearly not.

Oh well... I hope he's aware of it.

I tried that one, but...man, you have to get close, lol...and the Gargoyle is not exactly a small target. :)

I made a mixed-range build that I have had great success with so far, though:

I went back to my original Splat Wolf build without the overabundance of jump jets.
