Yeah I wouldn't mind a big city map with lots of large buildings to go in (factories, multi story car parks etc.), under and overpasses.

we have enough citys, already

instead of more citys - what about having jump jets to jump over those buildings

F****** yes pls! Heck I've been wanting a huge city map for a long time anyway. A true urban environment. Not these little joke village cities.

That would be pretty cool in general; not only for the Urbie - but after that...

a map like HPG manifold; in space with reduced gravity... 24 of those wonderful, lovable cuddly Dildomechs drifting in wide, elegant arches on jets of blue flame whilst rotating their heads like crazy and shooting all they got at each other..,

Might be pretty close to a druginduced hallucination; and absolutely glorious!

This is the map fans have been asking for since the beginning. A big city!

Unfortunately, PGI is focusing on CW maps for the next few months. And with a lot of players struggling with poor performance and low FPS, I doubt that a vast metropolis is going to alleviate the issue. The CW maps we have already are basically empty of any kind of terrain features except textures. Very low on polygons compared to a big city map. So I'm expecting more deserts, rolling hills covered by mud and grass and rocky canyons.

That being said:

Please give us a big urban map soon!


EDIT: And I would like to add one more request: Dont put a huge terrain feature like a mountain, citadel, volcano, caldera or HPG satelite dish smack dab in the center of the urban map. Just make it a big collection of buildings on a relatively flat map.

No we don't.

River city is more of a work camp with 5 large buildings, crimson has some streets and that's it, the rest ist mostly open.
And frozen? yes, below the ice there are some buildings, one here, two there but that's it.

No look at the Screenshot from the trailer up there. That is an urban environment. Buildings that tall they block the sun ;)

I don't see any benefit we would get by more buildings
the major advantage of the urban mech is not given
  • cheap
  • cheap
  • cheap self proppeled medium range autocanon
    • high precision at usual urban ranges
    • good damage
  • enough jump jets to cross most buildings (4 -5 story buildings)
  • can't skid and fall
  • better protection as tanks
City fighting will be terrible in MWO. the obvious routes will be those that give you some "open" terrain to shoot at - without leaving cover behind.
Small streets will cause lot of blue on blue situations
don't even want to mention - skirmish on those maps

But players complain that the factory restricts their fighting ability as it is. A city would cause muddy underwear!

I would enjoy a gigantor city map as it would lend itself to some good game play. I would also like to see an underground grotto with the stalactites and stalagmites with creepy vines and lush growth of luminescent blue mushrooms offering a chilling light, glowing green pools of acid that gave minor damage that emitted vapors that could be ignited by flame throwers.

This is a suggestion I made a while ago.. It uses some of their concept art, and also keeps in mind map balancing, spawns, a park (which is offset, not in the center) and the coastline (which is somewhat straight). You even get those disabled dropships like in the artwork behind EVERY MECH CONCEPT ART.

Do it like Big City in MW4 + a subway system and it'll be awesome. Make that into a CW map and it will be glorious.

I also really like the ruined city map with all the trashed buildings.
