Why exactly do we need this alliance? we're not exactly bordering each other and we can't control whether or not each faction can attack the one faction in between the two. In fact I would propose this counter offer instead, work your way up through Steiner space till we do have a border and let us test our might against each other.

Honestly, I am completely fine with Dervish, as the recognized leader of his faction and the only one with the authority to speak on their behalf, agreeing to trade the very minor Marik planet of Dyev for another one of our less impressive planets. You can have Butte Hold. I think that would be wonderful gesture of good faith! Alternatively, we are willing to work our way down through FRR as you work your way up and meet you at their southern border!
