Your talking to a guy who runs a Dire wolf with 4 gauss rifles. The pros don't use that, and if I position myself wrong I get decimated in seconds, but when it works and I have a big, open map to play on, it's godlike.

An absolute upper damage limit of 750 (if you hit every shot) for a Direwolf is not godlike, its pathetic.

DWF-B

i had to strip a lot of armour to even fit that much ammo. bad build is bad.

Why is making a terribad build with obvious gigantic flaws fun? You could run 3xGauss + a bunch of lasers, and have a mech that can actually function like it should, and it will feel almost the same to play since its still got lots of gauss. Just instead of sucking it would be good.

i doubt running out of ammo 25% into every match is a great deal of fun...........

a video does not proof consistency. and so videos are invalid.

I could record all my games as well, come here and say: i pull out 900+ damage matches ALL THE TIME. while this is not the case for every match, yet I just take 3 vids out of 15 where this happened.

I saw too many people in the forum claiming such stuff, that I later met ingame not making half their claim true. So when someone claims such a thing, I prefer seeing this myself. lso it would be fun running along with other nova players, Nova's are way too rare ingame. And form other good gamers that truly can pull this "all the time" there are things to lern, which is always a good thing.

Lol, ok. Or I could throw up stats from website and you can run numbers yourself on average k/dmg per round.

The point is you can easily study a few full round clips and observe them as demos to gain insight into how a particular mech and variants can function.

In fact being in a different mech (ie dropping with someone) would probably allow you to gain less understanding of the subtleties that are very small but important for success in any mech for any player.

I don't watch other players outside of spectating, and I don't necessarily do that a lot, but when I do I'd much rather see a few full rounds of play than simply drop with them to get a feel for the capability of a build.

Anyways, I don't claim things that aren't true so you don't have to worry about that. :)

those data are still not normal games, so why not wanting normal games? would be the most simple thing, wouldn't it? Anythign else is just words, and numbers? Nubers often do not really relate correctly. Especially with PGIs rather broken statistic trackings.

playing 5 matches in arow or 10 with someone says more than numbers or any written words.

Some folks will gravitate to the meta-of-the-month, and it's probably fun for them. Others will gravitate to favorite mechs and builds they personally come up with. It's a mixed bag; different strokes for different folks.

Hey man it's your decision not to take someone's word at face value, same as it's my decision to decline dropping with you to give further proof. It's not important, what is important is mechs like the Nova have value, they aren't top meta, and that's fine. They could see some buffs and I wouldn't complain, but it is what it is. Not everybody can play every mech the same, and we all have different playstyles and goals, and that's ok.

The best 'Mech is always the 'Mech that is the most fun, meta or not.
