TBH, most of the variants aren't worth buying at that point.

Outside of the Warhawk-C and Direwolf-S, it's actually a better deal to buy the omnipods as needed.

It's an indirect negative selling point that makes the omnipod system useless after grinding out 3 mechs.

Ironically hilarious, indeed.

Indeed. It actually makes grinding out three mechs incredible aggravating, too - much more so than the normal deal. At least with IS mechs, you get genuinely unique variants (ideally).

I mean, I didn't mind grinding my Clan Pack mechs, as I got them all in a lump, and just kind of viewed it as grinding one mech three times as long. i don't even really mind having 3 of each despite in many cases them actually being identical, with *maybe* one unique CT. But dropping all the cbills on one clan mech, then on another, and another, with them all being functionally identical? Eaugh. It's different when you're buying them for mounds of cbills, one at a time.

Mind you, my wanting to know wasn't so much to buy the mechs, but the omnipods, which I understand aren't available until the mechs themselves are? I haven't had any time to play lately, so unsure.

I intentionally TRY to have 3 different builds on every Clan mech... so just I don't get overly bored with the same stuff I have to deal with.

Unfortunately, the Mist Lynx broke me and to a lesser extent, the Ice Ferret.

It shouldn't be hard to figure out the common theme/problem of those two right?

I'm getting conflicting info that you could purchase more omnipods, but it might actually be not possible yet. Someone with those variants right now would have to confirm this.

I would say this... the forums would burn if the omnipods of the new variants cannot be bought unless you had to buy that variant. That would incur lots of qq and the wrath of some people (including myself).

I like my pitchforks and torches! :D

A few people were able to early on. I was not. I have a TBR-D and am sadly unable to buy more STs and LAs.

Thankfully, I have Mechlab-itis, so I never leave a build on a mech for more than a couple days at most, so that's never an issue for me. All three of mine change all the time, because I'm crazy.

hah yeah, gotta say, they're not prized possessions of mine either.

Yeah, I assumed we'd be able to buy the omnipods without owning the variant, once the variants are available for cbills. If they pulled something like being unable to buy the omnipods without owning the variant, I'd probably freak the f*** out. Owning three variants is quite enough, thanks.

I'm certain the pods will be available once the mechs are, though the FAQ doesn't say so.

We'll see when it happens.

If it goes the way in the saddest of fears, it could be a really really really sad April Fools joke.

I can tell you safely that potential forum burning is not a joke. :P

Did the same thing w/ the D. Those pods are hot. That's done though - waiting on the others.

This was a bad P2W jump anyway (and I regret my weakly giving in), but that would be insane. I'd bring a torch to that burning.

The whole idea behind needing to grind out 3 variants in the 1st place is utterly ********. I think MWO's progression system is 2nd in stupidity only to Titanfall's progression.......

TItanfall...play 50 lvls and get all that gear just to go back to lvl2, but now you gotta play all 50 lvls again to gain the exact same equipment over....wtf!?
