You seem like a good group of folks. What is your expectation for time spent practicing and playing? I've played MW thru MW4 over the years.

Oh, hiya Knight, lol, ninja'd me. I knew AKA back in the day and they are a great bunch of guys, good pilots, tons of fun so I'm joining 'em this time around. I'll let the chain of command answer your questions cause I'm way down the totem pole :) Hope you decide to join!

Hey there to all the returning and new Brothers!
To answer the question regarding expectations for practicing and play time. We take it fairly seriously. Once the game gets out and we all get settled in and have our lances reestablished, we will have regular practices and training sessions scheduled. These tend to be set up by the respective lance leaders (once we have them selected) and will be around the lancemates schedules as much as possible. After all, I can't expect you to always be at practice on a Tuesday night at 8 pm if you always have to work on Tuesday night at 8 pm. That being said we do expect you to make practice. Once we get going in league play if you don't make practices, you don't drop in league matches. Aside from practice, in the old days we just had a great time destroying each other and playing around with others. We even invented a few Mech themed games as well as a few contests. For example, we had a couple of 2 on 2 tournaments in combination with a few other clans we were friendly with for bragging rights. The pair could be any 2 pilots from all the players and was a lot of fun, we bracketed it out and folks could watch the matches in progress while awaiting thier turn. We also had a great flag football game we played heh. I really need to see if I can find the rules for that one again... I remember it involved a stripped down Uller with max speed and no armor as the "ball carrier" hehe.

Don't forget King of the hill and Capture the Flag! I also remember doing some league games That were FFP No Respawn Stock Mech. I don't remember if it was MWL or a different league. The leadership had to do some RP and were alloted a certain amount of assets. Whoever won got control of some of those assets as salvage as well as control over that planet. Those games were fun and were definately a good test of Skill. None of us ever got much practice in a stock mech and most of us ran 3rd person the majority of the time. Doing so in a competitive no respawn environment upped the stakes a bit and made a victory that much sweeter.

Sent ya a pm with TS3 info. Your AKA forums app should be approved any day and ull have access to all the forums (including the TS3 post). I think Ammo or Pheno have to appprove it...

Yeah, I ran 3rd person most of the time and rarely ran a stock mech unless everyone did so on a level playing field. Been practicing on Mercs running 1st person and stock. We'll see if it actually helps lol....

I LOVED Team King of the Hill! TKOTH was one of my favorite game types...

Thats Cool of you Coolant =P

I wish I still had a working copy of Mercs. My CD had a small crack in it and I tried installing it on my brother's machine a few years back. There are still pieces of that disc in his case and that drive will never work again lol. It did not pass the stress test!

Wonder if I can find a down loadable copy somewhere. Be nice to dust off the old skillset.

I was hopin for a Thor myself. We have to wait a year for the Clan goodies though. If they only had 1 Mech I would still be happy. Its been too dang long!

I don't like the heavy pick of Catapult. I'm not a missile kind of pilot...I guess there could be laser variants, but I chose the Atlas. Just hope the maps are on the small side so I can get up close and personal. Although Assaults could be a detriment to capturing or defending a base without some faster help. I do plan on upgrading to Legendary prolly next week...

I also am looking at the Cataphract as I think it can pack more of a punch than the dragon, and not so many missile slots as the Catapult. Mid-range speed between the Dragon and Catapult too. Just wish the Cataphract was a choice for one of the Founder mechs...
