To Piranha Gmes: I don't know what your Battletech-licence covers, if it is just for producing the game or if you are allowed to do more.

But if you would be able to offer some merchandise stuff I'm sure this would be a win-win situation. I'm not talking about the possibly overpriced Athena-Controller but about the small stuff:

Mug with a Hunchback on it, a decal for your screen that makes it look like a mech-cockpit, keychains, posters and stuff like that.

Advantage for Piranha Games: more income.
Advantage for Players: can get the stuff they want. They will buy it if it's offered.

It's not Pyranha Bytes, those guys are making Risen games. Our little company is called Piranha games, or PGI.

And the other two games used their budget on some merchandise like this, PGI uses it to get better game...
They could still add it later, though.

Solution: License the merch rights out to Jinx.com, they already license with Blizzard, Mojang, and a few other studios, and are an amazingly popular brand.

It reverses the issue of spending money to create and sell swag, and instead provides another source of income, and also pushes the brand out in front of more gamers by using a clothing company that is already established, and target-audience focused. (Plus, it's really embarassing how many 20-and-under gamers have no idea what Mechwarrior even is).

IE: all the mechs included at game launch sold as a set of TT scale minis.

A "founders" set would also be cool (prepainted)

of course as new mechs are added they make a mini and add it to the store..


some of us still play TT and wouldnt mind the MWO versions on our tables

I want shirts, so that i can tell the average WoW shirt wearer how much nerdier i am.
I want stickers for my notebook, car, costume box...
I want a coffee mug, because coffee is essential.
I want some mechs as danglers for my cars rear mirror.
