This event has made me dig out mechs that I've mastered and stopped playing so I could grind other new mechs. I can't tell you the last time I played by TDR-5s (p). I just had a fantastic round on alpine and came away with one of the best match score of the weekend out of all my attempts, 122

900+ damage, 4 kills, 6 assists. Who new the old girl was so durable? I think it helps that I've been grinding my butt off with panthers and jenners. I haven't touched a heavy or medium in a month.

Did anyone else pick up an old chassis and think: "This is pretty good, I remember this!"

Quirks on LL probably helps. That could be why TDR-5S is decent (though not super saiyan like the other TDRs as far as I know).

Took a ride in my ember... and switched back to my hugginn and panther. I never understood the OPness of that mech, even pre mg-nerf or maybe I'm just bad with Firestarters.

But going out with my heavy heros was fun again. Haven't played heavies for a long time because the queue was nearly half timber heavy everyday, but this weekend wait times where not that long.

Still waiting on a pug game where you see no timberwolf. since its release, lol

Misery.....

This thing feels like a ballerina compared to an Atlas and I can't help but grin when I plaster a light with a AC/20 + SRM6 combo.

A1. A mech with NARC and 5xLRM5 is still a blast to play, as long as you position yourself well. Had fun NARCing that pesky Light who thought he had the drop on me. He was buried in allied Lurms shortly.

I play all my 100 or so mechs regularly. But I have to admit...

Locust 1V (P)
Thunderbolt 5S (P)
Mist Lynx (I)
Ember
Centurion AH (L)
and Misery

just to name a few, are mechs I do not run often...

Locust 1V (P), made in the golden age of the MG's, it has a MG focused build with 4 mg's fed by 3 tons of ammo bins and 1 medium laser.

my top damage today with it was 695 damage with 1 kill, 11 assists, around 23 component destructions.
Still critting and bursting assaults as normal.

Thunderbolt 5S (P) had to get a sprosing up with the build, it has 1 med pulse, 3 med las, 1 LRM 20 + A, 1 LRM 10 + A, and 2 MG. It had not enough ammo for 12 vs 12 as it was made in 8 vs 8 days so I dropped the LRM 10 + A for a SRM 6 + A with 2 T ammo and more LRM ammo, works like a charm!

still rocking XL 300 on it, top damage was around the 900's. Carrying the team if like it's 2491'

Mist Lynx Prime (I) is a new dog on my list, but it isn't the most played as I mastered it in games as I moved on to the lynx durring x2 exp. This thing is just a replica stock of the Alt. Config D....
1 UAC 2, 1 ER med las, 1 ER small las.

Still showing how a single ballisting with a rating 2 rather that be AC 2, C AC 2, C LBX 2, or C UAC 2. that it can still be used for snipping'

Getting quite a few range kills and many 200k to 300k c-bill games (no prem) and one around the high 500's. in damage.
Still lovely and nostelgic but the Arctic Cheetah may take it's thunder for me...

Ember... got it when it first came it... it didn't feel that 'good' for me. It was nice... but felt odd. I just didn't get attach to it. But I strapped 2 flamers on it and got 2 med las remaining resulting into a crit seaking nightmare for enemy mechs, the heat messes up mechs a bit (Especially clan) and disciplinary fire (badum tish) control makes it really lethal and blinding.

No huge damage games, mainly around 300 to 400 with some 500 low's. but now it's fun...

Centurion AH... I never got the hang of it, it dishes damage out but often dies very quickly, my build has 3 x SRM 4, 1 AC 20 with an XL. (note: the XL isn't why I die fast. I normally die around 24 to 34% health and often it's the CT that fails me)

Due to the fact I now have THREE Centurion AH's... I got 1 with STD and streaks, 1 With XL, 1 with LRM's (As an... 3 LRM 5's with a AC 20, not a LRM boat, just a support weapon till I get in range)

It works I guess... but I hate my AL more ....

Misery, first mech that isn't a light I got and first hero, I love it to bits, it has around 600k ex on it now and this is why I didn't play it to often.

this is my go to mech for events. It gets kill easy, and it is lethal... I made it stock+ , ES + DHS + bigger std engine + AMS with stock weapons... so nice that gauss rifle is. I ironically use it for close up combat more then range. as it is nearly 0 heat. when I go hot, I just sit back and gauss.

I also found the locust a lot of fun in the past. Taking it out again was a bit of a thrill. Even better when I did well with it.

Still haven't mastered Gargoyles so I did a few drops in the prime before I dusted off my good old Flame. Still enjoy that mech for some reason. 320XL, Gauss & 4x MPL, lots of fun actually. Had only the arms been a little less low slung it would have been Good too. Not a missed qualified match in it, but nothing better than 600-700 dmg, 3 kills either... but the old Flame still burns! :)
