Be polite.
"gg close"

be efficent
*75 damage kill*

Have a plan to core everyone you meet.

I never delay kills unless I have 2+ more friendlies with me-- even then its rare.
But if I do...
Go for the legs.
Go for the arms.
Don't risk STs.

Finish them with a headshot.

I will just kill and move on to the next without too much fanfare. If there is a tournament going on where there is a requirement to have a kill; after I get my kill, I will leg mechs for others on the team to kill.

The only time I really spend on dismemberment is on an AFK mech, just to get the component destruction bonuses.

Side torso, then center torso, unless something's open and waiting to get blown off or its a mech like a Raven where you go for legs.

I usually fire at the most LT or RT depending on where most of the weapons are until the paperdoll updates, at which point I'll focus whatever has taken the most damage. Torsos are pretty safe since if you hit the right one you'll at least halve your target's firepower, or maybe even kill them if XL.

In CW, it's RT (a courtesy XL check), RL, LT, and move on. Did this to a Victor once on the first wave, he didn't appreciate it and DC'd leaving his team down 3 more mechs. I felt kind bad.

Maximize team c-bills by maximizing team salvage gains.

In other words, if I have a decisive edge and can end a fight quickly, I do so with maximum efficiency.

In addition to the salvage boost, it also lets me get back into the real fight sooner, which can be important. I've won games simply by taking a stupid long time to die, allowing my team to roll over the outnumbered enemy as around a lance of their mechs are so busy failing to finish me off that they ignore the main fight.

For me, it's kill efficiently and move on to the next target, don't waist time or ammo. Sadly I never have stupid high damage numbers (when I'm not lobbing LRM's for LULz), but I usually get around 1 kill per 100-200 damage I deal, sometimes I have a better exchange rate than that.
