If these kinds of assets were support calls that only commander specs could bring in, similar to the airstrikes or those dogs from Call of Duty world at war, then it could be interesting. At least so long as they aren't too powerful and can be killed reasonably.

I will potentially be lambasted for this comment but PvP and PvE cannot coexist in the same game without compromising on the quality of one of the components.
Whilst I would love a PvE Battletech game ala Mechwarrior-series (or a MechCommander-like), MWO would best serve the Battletech Community by keeping the content PvP only and hope that it's success (and the success of Mechwarrior Tactics) encourages a Developer to take up the mantle of a Single Player Battletech game.

I would rather have a very good MechWarrior or MechCommander game developed as a single player game rather than jam on some PvE onto a PVP game.
Although I have noticed a very nasty trend where 10 years ago a game may have come in with 40-50 hours of single player action and today you are lucky to get over 10 hours.
Does anybody know why Mech games just stopped being developed?

Only to test mech configurations.

I'd like PvE to some degree. Say, base assault scenarios with AI turrets, tanks and such.
(Also Clan mechs with Zellbrigen bots would be hilarious.)
