this is exactly what most people fail in. thats why most of this game is no fun. you are a casual gamer? totally fine
just accept that you wont win stuff with the typical *hop in and dont give a dime* mentality. neither in pug solo queue and especially not in CW
Well no they wont realize anything though they'll just leave. Psychologically gaming is mostly about 3 things
Actuation - being able to do things you cant do irl
Challenge - Testing your skill and earning victory
and Status - being better than someone/something else
If you dont achieve all 3 youll find something else to do (this is why most F2P games have PVE so people who arent the best can still win and achieve the 3rd point thus spending money)
The game is supposed to be challenging? Yes but this is artificially so. There are painfully hard games but the only reason you lose in them is because you made a mistake. Games can be BRUTAL this way and yet this is still considered good game design ala DS1, DMS, DS2, BB, MH1-4.
In this game numerical advantage is key one atlas derp WILL cost 11 others victory by wasting 100 tons. This is a guaranteed loss through no fault of the other 11 even if they made no mistakes. It becomes frustrating and removes the challenge aspect because
it is impossible to overcome if the other team is on par with your skill. So you remove 2 points of the triangle.
But lets assume that is a rare part of the population
For the following arguments lets assume both sides are equally skilled but 1 out of 10 players who play (only 10% im sure many would disagree with this low a number lol) are the aforementioned derps.
WARNING MATH AHEAD
Where
P(X
>x) = our Derp%
P = Probability 1/10 = .1
X = Draws= 12
x = success(or failures in this case)= 1 or more derps
First we add all the chances of getting 1 or more derps
P(X
> x) = P(X=1) 0.3766 + P(X=2) "0.2301"+ P(X=3) "0.0852" + P(X=4) "0.0213" + P(X=5) "0.004" + P(X=6-12) "start get incredibly small lol" = .7136
So our chance of getting a derp is ~ 71%
That means you statistically have atleast 1 player who will cost you the game each match (actually only 71% but still rather high a more often than not scenario) because there are 12 people on your team.
The only way to get around this is to control all 12 people on your team. Here is where the stomps come from. The team that is not 100% controlled is statistically disposed to lose due to the nature of total team size alone. This effects 11 other players this means pug vs FULL (i cant stress this enough 12/12 only) premade 72% of the time (statistically speaking only) would lose through no fault of their own and this is assuming the population of derps is as low as 10% the higher it is the more it scales in favor of premades.
This is bad for business as the game is basically telling pugs there is a 72% chance you will lose to a full premade (if their entire team is the same skill as YOU even if you communicate) people dont like to lose for reasons they cannot help they will leave and take their money to other places if it was a paid title it wouldnt matter you got your 50 bucks but as this is an F2P this is bad news there are two ways to fix this:
1. Remove the 10% from PVP by adding PVE:
Some werent going to provide a challenge to the hardcore crowd anyway may as well keep making money off of them and let them get their fix of victory. Also few want to farm while pvping you farm so that you
can do so effectively rather than provide fodder to those with deeper (virtual) pockets. Give the PVP'ers Banners Badges and flair and the less talented still have their fun (and keep paying). This model works in many of the most popular F2P games.
2. Reduce team sizes
This does alot more than you think to remove the "there is always some a-hole ruining my carefully thought out plan".
Given the same 1/10 statistic if it was 8v8
P(X
>1) =.5695
56% is still over half but not by a significant margin losing every other game due to 1 derp is much better than 2/3s of them
but 4v4 is where it really improves
P(X
> 1) = .3434
34% is way better you only lose 1/3 games due to derp most of the time you are challenged fairly.
Yes I know thats what they are going for already but it makes a huge difference to how people enjoy the game through more control over win loss allowing them greater player agency and more satisfaction.
TLDR;
1.)Give the Derps PVE
or
2.)Reduce group size imo
