Light, Mercury
Medium, Assassin
Heavy, Battleaxe.
Assault, Cyclops

We could use another fast 40 ton medium for the IS. Right now that is the Cicada, and that niche needs expanding. We've already got far too many 50 and 55 ton mediums.

For the Heavy I want a stand-in for the Warhammer, and the Hammerhands or Battleaxe fits the best, even if both have jump jets.

I could also go for the IS copy of the Timber Wolf, the Raksasha, but it needs to have the hero variant be the Bounty Hunter mech, but instead of missiles it has 2 autocannons. WIth that loadout you can simulate a Marauder, which is what Bounty Hunter was using before switching to a capture Timber Wolf. That being said, I have no problems with there also being a second Bounty Hunter mech in the form of a Timberwolf hero mech. There is room for both.

Succession Wars Pack I:

Wasp
Phoenix Hawk
Rifleman
Warhammer

Succession Wars Pack II:

Stinger
Valkyrie
Archer
Marauder

Loyalty Mech: Rifleman (for purchasing both packs)

And for the Clanners:

Succession Wars IIC Pack

Phoenix Hawk IIC
Hunchback IIC
Warhammer IIC
Marauder IIC

Those are really the best options PGI has left to make them piles of cash.

And no, I don't mind if they have to do chassis-up redesigns on all of them. Cut Alex loose and get them in the game.

No amount of explanations are going to stop people from asking things like this, but even re-designs are not enough. They're still lawsuit bait and they will never happen.

IIRC, Russ made an offhand comment about 'maybe doing the unseen anyway and doing enough redesign to avoid the lawsuit' recently. That's why I'm suggesting the Unseen packs.

This thread is about your ideal mech package. Preferably, you should pick one mech of each weight class. If you want, go ahead and include a bonus mech. The mechs should be plausibly available in game. That means 3052 or very close to it. You can choose the mechs based on whatever criteria you want, funny, iconic, meta, etc. This thread doesn't have anything to do with Res. 2, just picking 4 or 5 mechs you'd like to see in game. Also, including links to the BT wiki is good.

Light Mech: Netcode improvements for reliable hit detection.
Medium Mech: A real fix for crashes to desktop for 32 bits users.
Heavy Mech: Restoring all the graphical effects and stuff removed since closed beta, maybe associating them to higher settings.
Assault Mech: Balance without shortcuts like quirks and ponies. Most weapons worth their weight.

This is the next mech pack I will buy.

Light: Wasp LAM
Medium: Phoenix LAM
Heavy: Marauder
Assault: Hatamoto

And I know I'm completely dreaming on all of them except the Hatamoto, but what the hell.

Light: Wasp
Med: P-Hawk
Heavy: Rifleman and Warhammer AND Marauder (cheated)
Assault: Imp

UNFORTUNATELY...

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Unseen

Most of the 'classic' 'mechs we love that aren't in game are "unseen". To wit, someone else owns the rights to their images. To wit, without major visual tweaks we will, quite literally, never see them. It is worth noting that the Griffin is on the unseen list so there is hope.

Heavy: .......Mad Cat ($15)
Assault: Mad Cat Mk II ($20)

Mechs only. None of this "100 Mech Bays + 30 Day C-Bill bonus" nonsense...I downloaded this game for one reason: The mechs....

Javelin, Assassin, Champion, Hatamoto

Charger would be cool if they re-enabled knockdown.

Only question is that the loyalty mech is Rifleman even though it is in pack 1? Replace with Longbow or something similar.

Give Clanners Jenner IIC and push Phoenix/Marauder/Warhammer IIC to bonus? And add a second pack Commando IIC, Hellhound (Wolverine IIC) or Griffin IIC, Orion IIC/Thunderbolt IIC, and Highlander IIC. OR give the loyalty reward to the Urbanmech IIC.

I'd personally want the Fafnir, Nova Cat, Hellhound, and Bushwacker as top choices (especially Hellhound and Fafnir), and second choices to Longbow, Blood Asp, Canis, Mad Cat MK2, Templar, Sunder, Avatar, Uziel, Argus, Thanatos, Owens, Osiris, Solitaire, and Strider.

Used to be the Somerset package. Wolfhound, Bushwacker, Axman, Mauler. Now they've released the Wolfhound and Mauler, so I guess I'll go with:

Bushwacker, Axman, Hunchback IIC and Hatamoto-Chi

The last missing mechs from the Battletech cartoon that made me a BT fan :)
