vogons.org is where you should go for dosbox support. That is where all the developers frequent and they're fantastic for providing insight on how to get things to run.

I don't understand your second question. Mechwarrior 2 and Mercenaries are both 3D games right out of the box? What do you mean? There is no gold version of Mercenaries.
