It would be really nice if PGI implemented some sort of daily mission system, similar to what most other free-to-play games have. I believe it would give players incentive to play more frequently. What each mission would give could vary. C-Bills seems like the obvious choice, however it's possible that may negate the need for premium time, but a small amount should be fine. Consumables like UAV's and Artillery Strikes would also be a useful reward, as well as GXP to help players unlock skill nodes. Another option could be Mech Bays and cockpit items. Being able to earn things that usually cost MC would shift the focus from players spending money for MC to spending time in-game.

Here are some examples of possible daily missions...

- "Play 5 matches in any game mode (500 GXP)"
- "Win 3 matches in Domination mode (Priority Artillery Strike x3)"
- "Play 3 matches in Escort mode ($250,000 C-Bills)"
- "Win 5 matches in Skirmish mode (Mech Bay)"
- "Play 5 matches in Assault mode (XL Engine 340)"
- "Win 3 matches in Conquest mode (Beagle Active Probe)"
- "Win 10 matches in Scouting mode (Cameron Star Warhorn)"
- "Win 5 matches in Invasion mode (7 Days Premium Time)"

Note: These are just examples, not necessarily missions I'm advocating for.

There could be a button on the bottom right next to the friends list button. Click it and the 'Daily Missions' window pups up. All current missions are shown with a tracker next to them. For example, "Play 3 matches in any mode - 1/3". A player receives a new daily mission (at random) every day and can stack up to three or five at a time. Once you complete a mission, a slot opens up so you can receive a new one the next day.

This idea would not only encourage those who have been playing the game for a while to keep playing, but would also greatly ease new players into the game. Allotting new players with a few extra GXP or C-Bills simply by playing the game would soften the blow if they hit a losing streak. Providing them with fun stuff like cockpit items and encouraging them to use useful tools like UAV's would help them transition from ill equipped new player to well equipped experienced player.

I would love to know what the rest of the MWO community thinks of this idea. I'm sure I'm not the first one to think of this, but I haven't seen any topics in the forums about it so I thought I'd spearhead it and see who else agrees. Vote and share your thoughts below Posted Image

The rewards are debatable, but any incentive to play more would be nice.

The only problem I see with this is the ppl who'll complain because they think they have to complete each daily. Also there's the ppl who think events are evil and will think the same of dailys. Basically, whiners.

We sort-of allready have this.. just on a weekly basis.. with all the tournaments every weekend...

Some of them last a full week, so it kinda seems daily.. Especially the latest summer heat challenge.. totally daily rewards!

If you ask me.. no need for anything daily, the tournaments are enough.

These "events" are handled poorly though. There isn't even a tracker of any kind to keep track of what you've completed. For example, "2/3 whatever has been completed". Plus, some of the rewards are useless (like cockpit items). Earning C-Bills and modules is ultimately more useful. Look at what Blizzard does with Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm. The daily quest system they have is straight forward and very useful. The one useless reward I'd give exception to is camo specs since they're over priced and it would encourage more people to decorate their mechs.

At the moment the events are coming thick and fast every weekend.
I would prefer to see this toned down a bit and simpler, smaller daily/weekly 'missions' be built in to the game.

That is to say, that I think the events PGI currently being created should be once a month and be on a larger scale possibly combining several of the previous events into one having both a Clan and IS side running together.
The smaller missions could be simple built in leader boards that reset every 24hours or week and give results for match type, victories, chassis.... maybe a few others.

Not sure it needs a reward or anything for the missions, but if the results were accumulated and then when it came to one of the sanctioned monthly events it was taken into account, that would be pretty good.

Another option may be weapons and/or modules. Being able to earn modules like Radar Dep and Improved Gyros (without needing to spend 6,000,000 C-Bills) would make our time in-game so much better. Consumables would also be a useful reward. They are already widely used, so earning them rather than buying them would save players C-Bills.

Well, those are all just cbills in different form. It's like a gift card, it's still money, it's just money you can't choose where to spend. I thought of getting XP boosts, like complete the challenge and get 5x XP for next first win of the day, but then XP is not as interesting after completing the mastery which happens quickly.

I'd rather see more interesting challenges though. Especially since the "win a game" conditions are the worst part of the Challenge grinds. It's luck of the draw for team mates and can quickly cause pilot burn out after a string of 700+ damage multi kill games where the rest of the team just folds and you lose.

How about score over 400 damage in a Locust
Survive a match in a Hunchback

LOL

Something interesting.

I thought the same, but........drastic lack of players means drastic measures. Something to get people playing, either dailies or get CW fixed....one or the other LOL

Alright, but still, the rewards are mostly useless. If they were to implement dailies with useful rewards while continuing to have events/challenges with aesthetic rewards, that'd be cool.

Daily missions would only mean to grind through things you dont really want to do.
The actual problem in the game is that the general earnings are to low, instead of daily missions just increase the overall c-bill earnings a bit.

Like do you think, people want to buy 3 chassis for leveling ? NOPE. 1 maximum 2. In Special cases, three.

the grind in MWO is forcing you to do things, you dont like, but you MUST do it, to level up.

Earning certain things like 'Mech or Weapon Modules as daily rewards would greatly reduce the need to grind. These modules cost 3,000,000 - 6,000,000 C-Bills a piece, which would take several well played matches to save for. If we could play the same amount of matches and earn those modules as rewards we wouldn't need to spend the C-Bills.

Hey guys, I was reading this topic and the OP is actually interesting.
I don't agree with the format but the basic idea is there.
So I got some ideas on how to make this work or be more interesting (or so I think it will), so without wanting to break this conversation about rewards and focusing a bit more on the core issue, I created a Daily Missions [Alternative] topic.

Feel free to hop on in there and share what you think.

That's a bit complicated. Keeping it simple would make it easy for PGI to design and implement it into the game.

I'd like to keep thinking PGI has/will have the means and know-how to implement better and more complex things.
The only way this game can go forward is if PGI pushes themselves and gets out of their comfort zone.

I would love to see this implemented. Daily missions would be excellent incentive to play, some days I just play each mech get my x2 exp and log off.

For those suggesting that this would be a grind... please rethink that.... this game is already a grind... it just needs more substance.
