If you can't listen or don't want to Come back here at 6PM PST tonight and I'll be doing my normal Live Show Notes as Russ fields Questions from the Player Base

STARTING!

CW PHASE 3, Mechs and Game Modes!

# LegoPirate: What is the ETA on CW Phase 3?

* Can't give an exact date as it is taking more time that expected to develop, fall, probably October. Phase 1 was a huge drop of content, Phase 2 was a progression release. Intitial plan was do rolling progression rather than big phases releases, but deciding to go big. Russ is feature creeping it pretty bad trying to give everyone as much as possible. Want to give more depth, more reason to fight over planets.
* Wants to give More differences between Contract states, Loyals, Lone Wolf(Free Lancer), Mercs Contracts.
* As Loyalist get to vote as to where you get to go to war with(Focused Fighting), votes will be once a day. This going to help control where Mercs fights for the faction. Will work off Percentage of cast votes. If you lose your primary target border then it will automatically redirect fighting to the 2nd highest percentage.
* Loyalist are the only ones that can incentives Mercs to fight for their cause using their coffers. CBills will increase % of contract rewards
* Loyalist Earn Loyalist Points, Mercs Earn Noteritiy Points(less levels, more Points needed, bigger rewards)
* Mercs and Loyalist with Unit Tag on Planet can increase # of territories by 2 or 4 with coffers
* Merc Contracts will go to 7 day contracts. Can't break merc contracts (only Loyalist contracts)
* If you break Loyalist contract you will get a ingame CW title "Deserter" for 7 days
* If you take a new Loyalist contract your first small number of games you will not get rewards as you earn the loyalty of the new faction.
* Freelancers(Solo Mercs) will get special Urgent Call to arms
* New Ui coming to support all of this.
* CW Leaderboard Coming for Phase 3 to draw people to Units. Give Bragging rights to Units Want to reward players for playing with units.
* Alot of talking about Faction specific weapons and gear. Probably wont make Phase 3 but soon after.
* Scout Missions have changed alot since last time. Now happen on same planet as the invasion. No longer unlock next planet. Number of Levels that Scouts can open up for Invasion... Drop Ship Scans, Radar Sweep, LongTom Arties(more powerful but long cooldown). Scout Levels can be contested between Attacker and Defender. Can be manipulated live and throughout 8 hour window(even within match). Might add in more over time. Probably have multiple game modes. Use Public Queue Maps .Wont use Territories but rather Intel Bar. Probably will be just lights and medium mechs.
* Want to add incentive to break up large units... want the units to be in the 50 to 100 Pilot Range

# State of Solo vs. Unit Combat in CW?

* Current Population doesn't allow matchmaker.. need 5 to 10 times more players to get a Matchmaker in CW. Maybe after STEAM Launch.

# Thought of mixing up Tonnage Ranges in CW?

* Yes we have thought about it. Majority of players say they want the 240 tonnage limits right now.

#Add ins

* want to spread the OGens out now that they are better protected
* like the dropzones to reduce spawn camping

#Jman5 - Any chance we can get CW ammo adjustments to make Ammo Based weapons balanced with Energy Weapons?

* Haven't thought about. Haven't heard about that from anyone else. I will monitor it in more

#Crockdaddy - Could we do a Ladders for CW? .. 60 day Leaderboards for Units to compete in?

* If the player wanted it then we could totally do it

#When can we get Improvements to CW UI? Sort, Coffer Info etc....

* Definitely needs another around of improvements. Hasn't been a priority yet. Need to get it Scheduled. Tasks Tina to start documentation thread to follow up with players

#Dawnstealer - Destructible Gates? Tanks? Conquest Mode in CW?

* Always considered, but it burns through ammo and doesn't invite any strategy.. can just sit back from range and knock them down without return fire.
* Tanks... yes .. some day. When we get AI.. yes we would get Tanks, Helicopters, Infantry and other MEchs. Garrison teams of AI bots instead of ghost drops. Lots of steps to get there
* New Scouting mission(in particular Counter Scouting mode) version similiar to that

#KiKi - Could we get CW match info counted into stats?

* Would like to, not impossible, but not a small effort, and big database hit for a small return in the UI.. Is it valuable enough? No plan right now

#RogueJedi - Non-Omni Clan mechs? or IIC mechs?

* Hero Mechs for July 7th Thunderbolt 'Tallman' Energy Boat no JJ 9 energy hard points, quirks might be just range, but probably armor or mobility..
* Wolverine is a created variant All Right Side weapons, Arm 1 Ballistic 3 Energy, 2 Missile, 360 engine, Jump Jets
* 1st of Redesigned Champion Mechs coming? Probably 21st

# Will we see an Aysmentic Assault Game Mode?

* Want to use Union Class Drop as center piece of game mode.
* Attack/Defend Style Mode
* Maybe power-up over time
* Damage-ability of parts
* Hard to Balance
* No Union Class Drop till atleast August

#Off Topic

* probably take turrets out of Assault modes, never really added to mode. Remove tactics from mode.. want to re-introduce tactics so its definitely different from skirmish.

#Potty BREAK

#CurCcu - Could all the double sink using mechs have 1st 10 be true double heatsinks to help the smallest mechs regardless if they are in the engine or not.?

* Won't be able to answer that. But know the littlest mechs need help.. feels your pain. Needs to be done so that it doesn't provide benefit for bigger mechs

#LegoPirates - There have been numerous complaints about jumpjets and in particular class 1 jumpjets are there any plans to revisit and revise jumpjets since its still not beneficial to take more than 1 jumpjets.

* A change is coming in July 7th for Class 1 Jumpjets. Bigger initial boost, more thrust but less available fuel. Going go a little higher and get there faster

#Octopack: Do you have any news on new weapons, new packs, AI being featured. Also what about new quirks?

* Looking at a complete top to bottom rebalance of all mechs in game. Will not be released in increments but all at once. Multiple PTS and wont be released until community is happy with it
* Call it a MWO Battlevalue System. Mobiility, Armor ,Weapons, Hardpoint Type and Location, ECM, Sensors etc will all contribute to BV value of mechs.
* Will increase in intel gather aspect of game for Intel Focused Mechs
* Not a direct translation from tabletop
* Hoping for a public test in Mid July
* Would like to see it live in 2nd patch August, probably will slip

#enderassassin - is there any hope that the map updates will remove that horrible filter on certain maps, from what it looks like River City might be getter that brown filter remove, so will Forest Colony get the darkening filter removed during the update as well

* Yes it will
* River City will be the first to be revisit, significantly bigger, Caustic Valley sized, alot more city
* All new light.. Dynamic Lighting day, night, dusk, dawn, 6 hour transition
* Street Lights will turn on as the sun sets
* Destructible trees and lamp posts
* Trees and Lamp Posts will not provide any protection
* Forest Colony will be next and will be as big as new River City.
* Dropship drop off via Leopard Class Dropship
* Alpine will come after Forest Colony. will be more symmetrical, more trees..

#LegoPirate - Any plans for Clan Hero Mechs? If so how is the omnipod system gonna work with them?

* Yes, but can't add anything to it.

#Dev Vlog 12 coming Friday will cover Art Pass and Map Changes.

#East Indy - Recently you said on Twitter that you "personally" would love to see the group queue limited to 4 players in a party. Do you have a plan to implement the limit of 4 potentially in CW?

* Not at this time. 'Majority' of vocal players still want to play with large groups. Doesn't understand how its fun for stomping solos and small groups but that's how it is. BUT 6% of groups are 6- 10 ... Less than 1 % 11 - 12 93% are groups of 4 or less. Need to revaluate in the future to provide opportunities for both small and large groups

# AdamBaines - STEAM Update?

* Nothing new.. high probability that we are going to STEAM. Late Summer / Early Fall... Sept/October
* Need New Tutorial before then.
* Completing Tutorials will provide rewards
* Need to revisit ELO before too. ELO only really only goes up in group, else it stays roughly the same. Russ and Paul have been talking redoing the ELO system from scratch.

#Alistair Winter - Russ can you give us any update on when the pilot skill tree will change and if you have plans to do more than replace the pinpoint accuracy skills?

* No Resource are tied up with July 7th Expanded Mech View work for 720p resolution, then hopefully in August Mech Select Screen and Custom Selected Paint jobs will display in New Mech Select Screen. Then after that Skill Trees and Decals. UI Scaling needed but not ETA at all. Needs a couple months of work, too many other needed first.

#TygerLily - Can we have chassis leader-board that resets each month. Maybe the top 3 of each at the end of the month get a small prize or a floating Title.

* Good idea would be easy to leap off of the new leader-boards from CW

# Tv's BRent - Could we see a more functional chat Window in the game?

* Wants better functionality around muting and inviting players while in match.
* Wont have faction or team chat in match since they are on dedicate servers.

#Are there any comments that you would like to make on the fure of PGI's work against cheating within in the game? how do see the STEAM Release affecting this with a hopefully large influx of players?

* its active and on going. there is a list of players they are watching and actively investigating. they won't immediately ban people because they want to use them as guinea pigs. No indication that there are more than a very small number of players

#tsule - As it stands, there are few maps that require the use of heat or night vision will there be any changes in the upcoming maps. Weather effects?

* Really can't do weather right now. As for heat and night vision - See Dev Vlog 12 on friday.

#endersassassin - Will there be the possibility of a mech being able to crush cars, knock/crash weak, small fences, or making mechs eb able to knock down other mechs.

* july 7th they will add in immersion for running into building and mechs.. E.G. sparks as you scrap against things.

# Bad Arcade Kittey - are they any plans for some additions for fluff animations?

* not at this time?

#Hit Regs Update

* Neema has been focused on it for the last 2 weeks. Did optimization of mech movement code, optimization of network bandwith reduced traffic by 25%. Added the Bone Rewind mechanic on top of existing main mech position rewind. This will better account for torso twist and leg positions.
* Found bugs in the existing Rewind State when considering the difference in pilots of different pings.
* Hoping to get them all in for July 7th
* Should work exceptionally well up to 400ms ping

#Region Servers

* Singapore Server probably 100ms ping of Aussie players
* France / German Border for EU server -
* Hoping to have them both drop on the patch.. July 21st... Oceanic may slip to first patch in August
* Matchmaker for public queue will have option to select other servers to increase the pool of player they can be matched against. Will show distribution of players based on what servers you check.
* Believe Hit Reg improves will make the server choices less of an issue.
* Community Warfare will remain NA Only because of low population.

#New Clan IIC Mech Pack

* Same Price Point as IS Packs 20/40/60/80
* Adjust the same way as IS Mechs
* Jenner
* Hunchback
* Orion
* Highlander
* Art is all original.. not just adjusting the IS mech versions
* Release Dates - Late in the Year
* May be able to tease images as soon as tomorrow

#Further Out Plans?

* Phase 4 for CW
* More Game Modes for CW
* Drop ships for Private Matches
* PVE for 2016 (Co-Op first - Single Player)

* No idea.. not feeling the pressure. Want to keep it IS vs. Clan for a while longer

#Fix old Mechs Ongoing? Currently?

* Tina get me the 5 worst scaled mechs in the game.. Post a thread please! 4 of 5 last retrofits coming July 7th. Only Stalker Remains .. No ETA on him yet

# Unseen Mechs?

* No new thoughts on redesign of them. Considering recontacting Harmony Gold... but still not expecting not.

#Solaris Update?

* In early planning stages.. Equal or larger in size than CW Phase 3.

It is awesome that you do this. It is so much easier for me to check this thread every once awhile throughout the night than to try to set aside the time to actually listen to the thing. O7

- Scouting missions, Yes Please! For scout mechs that do scouty things!

I like the scouting mission giving invasion mode perks, thought i'd offer other suggestions to it as well. Instead of having it automatically happen, maybe at the various levels each side gets a set number of points from the success of their scouting missions to use ingame. The drop commander/lance commanders could then spend those points in game to provide the radar ping, id mechs, or call in a long-tom strike.

An additional scouting perk could be positioning ammo reloads and/or the disruption of those supplys. Not sure how the community would respond to that though.

I'm kind of glad turrets are going, but I'm curious what new mechanic might inhibit base rushing.

Its interesting to hear new top to bottom mech rebalancing. I wonder what that holds in store. Maybe less weapon quirks and more structure/maneuverability.

Overall, very interesting.

If you want to see less complaining about qroup que, remove 2-3 man groups from it and drop them in the normal que. They're the ones fielding the complaints, and rightfully so because they don't belong in the que. Most games allow small group to play in the normal que (LoL for example) because ultimately a small group isn't large enough to allow what larger 6-12 man groups can do.
