So after the Dragon Drop Saturday event, and it's reasonable success my Unit has decide to start hosting House Kurita Community events, we have 2 lined up so far.

The first is for this coming Saturday, the 13th of July and then from this point on, we do plan to get an event of some kind up for each Saturday.

The events will all be held on the House Kurita Teamspeak Server.
TS: housekurita.teamspeak3.com:6619
PW: Yakuza

All House Kurita players or those considering joining our faction, regardless of units and affiliations are welcome to come along and participate.

The First Saturday Event Poster is up, with Saturday the 20th Poster soon to follow, hopefully for those that missed the last event this will give you a bit more notice.

What about the possibility of a HK 8 man tournament? I know that there was one a couple of months ago that was pretty successful.

I am sure we can arrange that for one of the upcoming events FullMetalJackass, right now, we have the two posted events and 1 more planned, poster soon to follow, and can look at putting an 8 man tourney in, I am sure there are plenty of players within the units who would be happy to participate, would need a good idea of interest level to get this in.

The only thing is that for a good tourney, would need to know in advance how many teams of 8 want to participate, if we tried the sync drop alignment for a top spot tourney, or do we go for a bit of a laugh and have a free for all tourney.

Also feel free to suggest theme's and ideas for the Weekly Community event.

Thats the reason for setting them as all day events Muskrat, myself I work a night routine throughout the week, and at weekends I am just awake at nights as a result, so I am sure some people will be around, and at least a couple will run with you. The all day sessions is to allow for people in different time zones a chance to get in on the fun, without pressure of having to be available for a specific time period.

Not sure what time I'll be on, but I'll see if some of the guys are down for this. What times do you normally drop?

*Don't mean to nitpick, but "Steiner" is spelled incorrectly.

Kdogg been corrected now ;)

I normally drop late UK evenings or US Afternoons, however due to peoples different times, I label them as all day events. So if people are there, hop in, group up and drop some Assault Mechs on peoples ;)

Ok, so with regard to future HK Community Events, I am trying to get some ideas for a tourney together.

8-mans or 4 man groups?
Weight/Class Restrictions to make groupings balanced?
Timings and Availability?
Scoring Systems?
Interest?

Also, if the regular Saturday timings would be unsuitable, which days would be a good alternative?

Unfortunately due to RL constraints I have been unable to sort a planned event out for this weekend Saturday the 3rd August. However for the Saturday the 10th August we will be running a Dragon Drop vs House Marik Quickdraw drop after a request from some of their players to run a simultaneous event.

Posters and details to follow.

In regards to 8 man tourneys, like i said last night ill be willing to help on that end. i like the idea of having restrictions to promote diversity and lessen the tone of the metagame as it is. i however dont think there should be a specific mech class limit like the 2-2-2-2 style that i have commonly see. all that means is you will see 2 highlander 732s (maybe brawler atlai if they are gutsy), 2 catafract 3-Ds, 2 centurion As, and 2 jenners. i like the idea of the 228th in using flat out weight restrictions, like 375, 475, and 575 tons (228th runs all of those). we can also flat out restrict certain things, but again i dont want to directly limit so we can use something like ppcs for instance. yes i know its the metagame, but some (like me) are at our absolute best with ppcs, and not just because they are the flavor of the year. same could be said with anything. heck, our group was really suffering when brawl was nerfed to hell as our group by and large are brawlers. i would prefer not to indirectly exclude anyone because they happen to use a build considered OP at the time. just my 2 cents
