I support this an you know what i go and raise you a bit. If players die they get their rewards reduced. (i said reduced not halfed and not nullified, reduced) So if they want their rewards to stay as they are they need to eject at some point. This puts pressure on the player to decide to stay in the fight or to gtfo and save his ass.
Of course this would also mean we need a satisfying eject animation for our mechs. but since its 1st Perosn i think thats pretty straight forward.
Pilot eject is in game but there is no animation yet. That it is in game does improve the sim though, even as it is, how ever slightly.
Its a great idea that if a pilot doesnt eject before his mech goes down then there should be a medic bill after the match. This could be included in the repair and re arm that is sure to return.
The eject animation could be of a pod with boosters sending the pilot off the field, rather than a player in a seat. It could be a quick esape mechanism coming out of the floor of the mech, that quickly encloses the pilot in a pod then ejects. This could even be done easily in first person view with a not so clear window to look out for the last seconds or so. Maybe the window/windows doesnt open until the pod leaves the mech.
For Galaxy map battles, if the pilot doesnt eject before mech going down then the time to drop in a new mech goes up.
These are the kinds of things that would really improve the sim and game play depth, as well as what the original topic mentioned.
In fact eject would even improve the sense of scale since other mechs would see the pilot ejecting in the pod which would tightly pack the pilot in.
Sim ftw.
This is some of the critical stuff that should have been in 2 years ago.

Get a guy that does alot of modding and it could be in game by the end of the day.
Oh, and problems that could accure with this such as ejecting in caves or under ledges are already in game as associated with the UAV....... This Pilot eject is easy to add.
LOL if the pilot does pull eject and is under a ledge unknowingly then they could add the pilot looking out pod window still in mech say "oh sh*t" or "oh oh" depending on pilot character creation choices. ( BTW its in our nature to say "Oh sh*t" because it doesnt mean dung and isnt actually a bad word at all, its german/deutch for "bad" as in "Oh schelcht", gut = good, schlecht = bad)
