Yea and most people hate that map the most. That should tell you something...

Also look at cw, people just want a usual shooter, and more people we have, more will want that.

Stream is coming...

That map

People hate that map because of the heat, not the size.

Ok many people hate Alpine. Or Gog. Now what?

People mostly like simple arena-type maps where they don't need to know the territory and cant get lost or flanked. Just pew-pew-pew in the heaviest mech.

And what idiotic about that? That you need just a little brain to use some little tactics to not bottleneck? Yea that's what I'm talking about...

+1

Give us maps more like ARMA. The ones we have are more like arenas.

PGI should either make larger maps or unleash the CW maps for general use.
With a larger time limit.
To give time for scouting, flanking and other tactics without exposing yourself to laser vomit after you've moved only 500 meters.
The only problem I see are those afker's and jerktards who will go and hide for X amount of time just to be a jerktard

The problem is Mechwarrior Online has degraded into CoD. This is Mechwarrior dammit not CoD. We want MECHWARRIOR not CoD. Strategy has always come into play in Mechwarrior, it needs to make a massive reappearance. Right now all you have is point and shoot Ala CoD

Yes....this is exactly the problem with MWO. Early closed beta was the true MWO. Slow enough paced and your MEch could take a beating. Gave you a sense of power and scale unlike any Mech game to date. The graphics and sounds were superior I might add. What a horrible waste. The bean counters at PGI decided to change ALL that. Alienated all those Founders by switching to a COD style of gameplay. Makes me sick thinking of what MWO could have been.

I was dreaming about mission-based game modes like defend convoy while it moves through the map with various paths or some base assault (real assault), something like that.

And increase weapons cooldowns!

Have not fought in the same spot on the new River City yet. And there have been matches on that map where the enemy has just disappeared. So I think maps are headed in the right direction to support role warfare.

Detection based upon mass should be worked on. That being said lights are annoying as it is. Would need to fix their hit boxes at the same time.

PGI have been talking up role warfare for years.

It seems to get more intense just before new Mech Packs go on sale.

Progress to date = zero. Even today's "significant announcement on ECM" turns out to be nothing more than a mere range adjustment and a non-committal statement about how it "might" lead to further changes.

Can't get any less committed than that.

I'm saying the ring attracts the idiots, noone plays smart on that map, just hurdur to the ring, one enemy in there first ok jam up the ramp! Its like pulling teeth to get a good flank going, or even to bring the fight out of the ring. There's so much map to use but most game just begin and end in the ring.

So the more people we'll have the more idiots there will be, the simpler maps we'll need. We are doomed.

Regarding map sizes, they could make them continental is size, we would still do the same thing. Run together as a big blob with a few outliers then smash together usually in the same kinda places. The only real difference huge maps would make is the speed at which the smashing together would happen.

I'm hugely in favour of multiple objectives that need to be completed in a way that forces groups apart, just not 100% sure how it would be done in such a way as to make communication and cooperation as important as mashing 'W' and left clicking on anything that moves.

Nope not on that map. Mordor is the anti alpha map. Only people with trigger discipline win often on that map.

Beat a Maddog solo in a Kit Fox with a pair of med lasers and srm4s yesterday. He kept shutting down trying to alpha so only part of his damage ever got applied. I was mean and stripped both torsos because it was funny to watch his panic.
