1) Selecting a Trial Mech yields the notice: "You may view and edit equipment on Trial 'Mechs but only purchased 'Mechs may be saved."

2) Selecting a different 'MECH after you've selected the TRIAL 'MECH yields this notice: "This action will cause all changes to be lost. Do you want to Continue?"

Both can be seen in the screenshots here: http://imgur.com/a/g7AoZ

- SOLUTIONS -
1) Add this notice to an in game tutorial tips and only display it during the interface tutorial tips (as in after you have first encountered it, it will not show again unless you want the tutorial tips again). IMHO, using the intermediate solution is the most appropriate.

2) Don't display this warning.

- INTERMEDIATE SOLUTION -
1) Only display the warning when trying to save the TRIAL 'MECH and/or when you first try to modify the TRIAL 'MECH.

Did you even read the patch notes? PGI stated that it is a known issue.

Known Issues in this patch
Select 'Mech
  • Through MechLab > Select 'Mech: Selecting a Trial 'Mech and then selecting any other 'Mech will prompt you with a 'Changes will be lost' message
  • Saving a camo spec or loadout change while inside the Select 'Mech screen may not update the portrait until you leave the Select 'Mech screen

Read the first bullet point; it is not mentioned in the patch notes.

First bullet point: working as intended. I don't see the problem here. Pretty straightforward, no?

First time is ok, but every time you click on one?

Never.

If you read my post, it says "Selecting a Trial Mech yields..." and it does this every time you select one.

... not for me it does.

Do you select your mechs from the mechbay? And if so, why? Mechbay is where you edit mechs, so it makes sense that it reminds you that you can't edit them.
