I’m going to start off by telling you I’m not that good at MWO, yes I’m a founder but I’ve only got just over 1600 matches and have a KDR of .87 thus I am not top 2 tears. I am a fan boy of MWO so I got the wave 3 pack about 4 hours after it was announced and it has taken me up till now to get all of the mechs in that pack to elite status. For the last 3 weeks I’ve been working on the Arctic Cheetah and I must say from the start I’ve been pulling down better numbers then I ever had (I know it’s an OP mech and it was responsible for my improved play) so for 2 an ½ weeks I was a god in my own mind but then 3 days ago I think I shifted into a much higher tier and now I’m struggling to get the final 10K xp I need to get the last Arctic Cheetah to elite status. I’m afraid that once I go back to “normal” mech I’m not going to stand a chance because I’m in over my head in the higher tiers.

I guess the whole point of this post is to wonder how long will it take and how much suffering will I need to bear before I’m back into the tier I belong in? And oh why did you play with me like this PGI? Why did you let this OP mech ruin my MWO life?

The problem is that you're mistaken - you only do better in the Cheetah because you magically become a better play in it. It's got nothing to do with the mech. You do better in the ACH not because the mech is OP but because you're just better than everyone, including yourself, when you're playing it.

I mean people killed you while you were in it, right? That means it's balanced.

Humor aside, depends how many matches you played. The good thing is that think of it like a perpetual 'two steps forward one step back' sort of race. At a very, very rough estimate it'll take you 1/2 as many matches to fall back under the tier threshold than it took you to cross it, assuming you crossed it early on. Without more statistics nobody could say but a 30-50% relative investment back in your regular performance should put you back where you're comfortable.

I feel like I am gimping my team if I drop in anything except a DWF since PSR came out. I usually do ok in that mech but the competition is so stiff now that in anything with less firepower or that I am less experienced piloting the enemy melts me in seconds.

I feel like I get great matches in my DWF now, but I'm not enjoying playing any of my other mechs at the moment.

You know this all goes to show that PGI has ABSOLUTELY no concept of game balance, whatsoever. They have nerfed everything so badly when a reasonable mech does make it through everyone whines about it till it gets nerfed.

LOL, so true. The Arctic Cheetah is the only Mech which realises my full potential as a MechWarrior.

My PSR is fine, the problem is I often drop with teams composed of mostly scrubs. you get 2-3 lights (Not Arctic Cheaters or they would still win) that run straight into the enemy death ball before any of the 89 kph mech can get in range.

may be you are just a light pilot and didn't try it really before

a firestarter can probably bring you a similar result to a cheetah

All of the people that I've listened to play the SCH have said that they'd still do better in the FS9...

Yeah I Understand the OP. ACH has surely wasted lots of mechwarriors, such is the way of single PSR, you better play similarly rated mechs all day because if you don't you better get ready for a roller coaster aboard crazy MM.

Wish I was OP in the Cheetah. But I am a meh light pilot so my matches were fairy pedestrian.

And I can't say I saw too many "ZOMG, kill it!" matches by other pilots. And nothing like when the Spider was just broke and I watched a pilot take out 4 assaults and a heavy solo.

But it is getting the nerf bat so these threads will be ending soon. Yay!

If you're impressed by the ACH you must never have piloted a FS9.

The ACH has obsoleted my MLX and SDR 5D but it is by no means any worse than a FS9.
