Hmm I never started any TT game by now, even if I wanted but gamesworkshop and other stuff is so damn expansive I never had any money free to spend for 1000 bazillion miniatures at overpriced rates.

but hmm saw this:

They tried making a clan box set...then realized it was a kids playset
<snicker>

in all seriousness you're looking at the foundation for CBT, the original 3025 lineup (sans unseens/star league)
clans are an after thought :P

Yeah but I love the Clans =P
So I would rather buy such a set.

and hmm but after all this boxed set seems not to be Dark Age stuff (I hope so)

I would rather start with the classical era (if I would)

100% NOT Dark Age
its 'Level 1' tech which is where the game timeline begins; in 3025
clans come in around 3050

Ohh noes... do I have to wait so long to get them back =O
gnaaa

hmmm on a different site it says that the 2 Premium Quallity models are a Hellbringer and a Summoner Oo
So it seems its not 3025

Hmm I also must say that Gamesworkshop and Forgeworld models look better in their Details.....

Yah, most of the mechs in the box set are so-so quality casts. Fine for playing, but if you like to paint minis you'll be disappointed. The two premium quality ones are nice though. Great deal if you're just starting out though.

Its a real shame affordable plastic minis are not more available for BT. I have never played the TT game before but have my order for the introductory box set in a while ago so hoping it ships with no further delays next week.

Since I only have a few friends that would be into this sort of thing and they are scattered all over the place wont get to play that much so the box set has more mechs than I am ever likely to need but I would like to be able buy a few more of my favourite mechs that may not be included and also just a couple vehicles and aerospace just for variety and to get a better understanding of how they all match up and fair against each other since they dont seem to get a fair representation in the PC games

For these reasons the option to buy a bag of say 10, 15, 20, etc minies either to order (pick & mix) or randomnly for preset prices would be great. Being targeted at those who want a bit more quantity instead of quality (maybe to bulk up those armies for larger campaigns) minies in around the standard of the box set ones would be ideal as they are not ment for collectors who want very high quality for painting and are already catered for by IW who are far to expensive for my needs.

The way I look at it is that $40 can get you 4 mechs - a whole lance of metal minis. Versus, the same amount of money for 10 plastic Space Marines.
BT - something you can play with.
40K - You still need another $60 worth of minis to field the lowest point cost basic army in order to play.

I know what gets my money.

But yes, if they offered just the plastics from the box, I would buy at least 2 more.
