Why not? Not like they would make the player base mad or anything

But how would they pay for all their beer?

I'd be happy if the pricing for a Canadian company was is CAD, not USD. I:

The 25% tax of "You're in the same country as us!" sucks.

Just, think for a moment.

Order Summary

Clans Package - Black Hawk Collection
$60

SubTotal
$60=83.59 CAD

You think as American it's bad. You're not giving them $60; you're giving them $83 in the country they're based in. ;)

Basically they've gotten a +25% price increase without anyone American noticing. Pretty sweet for them, yeah?

Pricing is silly. Still... I'd be happy at $20 CAD as opposed to SURPRISE; $25.

They are going to have a hard time getting a larger player base than they've already got. I doubt even steam will help much, marginal improvement at best - because you really have to be interested in MW/BT to stick around this game for any amount of time because there simply isn't a lot of replay value otherwise.

When Canada's currency becomes the reserve currency then you can complain about paying more.

I find it odd that when you do the $20 then add on the $15 hero there is only $5 diffrence between standard and collector pack before sales tax and credit card fees. They should really include the hero in the $20 and remove one of the other variants like the old mastery packs.

no.

it should be 3 normal variants for $20 with the option to add the hero mech for $15 extra

and it should be 2 normal variants, 1 collectors variant, and the hero variant for $40

they should throw the hero mech in the $40 pack for free instead of the duplicate variant.

Are you saying a $15 dollar mech pack without the premium time and other stuff?

Like a stripped down version for $5 less?

I think $20 bucks for
  • 3 Mechbays
  • 3 Heavy or Assault mechs
  • 3 cockpit items
  • 30 days premium time

Is pretty reasonable, even before the extra swag for ordering early.

I think it could be lower for light & medium mechs.

I like this model much better than the huge packs that are all or nothing if you want the heavier tonned mechs, and it's also a better deal than the a la carte packages.

^^^ 110% agree with this.. As a Canadian this SUCKS!!!!! why the hell is a Canadian company charging USD to someone in Canada ... you even ask for my dam areacode when I'm putting in my credit card info, you know where I am... I have no prob. throwing money at MWO but it really holds me back when I'm charged in USD from a company in my own country.

For me pricing is fine. I just don't like the USD charge that adds another 20-25% on my total...

$60 converts to £39 for me, which is the equivalent of one of the following

Approx 35 litres of petrol
14 pints of Thatchers Gold
66% of the cost of my wifes haircut
100% cost of my teenage daughters monthly phone bill
10 years worth of toiletries for my teenage son (hes a dirty sod)

So in my books its a bit of a bargain

Come to England, where the cost of living is so high that anything you buy from abroad is a bargain.

Gotta admit, when I see 50-60ish USD then get smacked with 80ish AUD I get a little miffed, but then I remember the nicest beaches tax.

if you look at all packages since C1, then your suggestion is in dreams only.

The prices are stoned in MWO for a long time.
They have 2 depatments rly working hard in PGI.

1)mech model
2)financial marketing
