Ok so here's a conundrum. Your playing pvp day by day and just want a different way to earn some cBills? How about a team survival mode. You and teammates vs waves of AI(tanks, inftry, urbies, etc). The maps would consist of choke points, water(for heat), and some form of ammunition supplies. I personally love analyzing and strategically planning just to last even a few more seconds. cBill reward could be based per player(no leeching) depending on wave survived and units destroyed/DMG done or perhaps even dmg taken? Thoughts and opinions welcomed.

I'd rather PGI not spend the time and effort working up a new AI system and instead focus on making the best PVP game they can.

Later, if the game is successful and they have money to burn, sure, then look at adding AI for PvE and coop play.

The best AI is one left unmade. There is no "I" in AI. It should be called AU "Artificial Unintelligent".

I think that would be really cool but I would not like to see it until the rest of the game is perfect... Would not want them bothering with a AI until the game is good and polished.

PvE can be bottom of the list of things to work on, and if it never happens I'll be content.

Instead put the resource into more mechs/maps/planets/customisation/bug fixes...basically anything else is more important than PvE to me.

I have to agree, I for one love PVE. But it would take a large amount of time and money to program and then develop. I don't think anyone here would be willing to wait another month just to add in a PVE fight that would most likely provide less C-bills then a normal PVP fight. Again, I love PVE and I hope they work on it after the game launches.

A good idea though.

Sure, why not. But only without rewards.

AI would be farmed. any reward would be unfair to those of us who worked hard trying to team play against RL opponenets.

All really good opinions and I will say I agree with most everything stated. Consider this though, you just got some new gear and want to simply figure out how to combo with it best and use it to your style, where can you do that? I will if I have to, but taking a first time setup into a heated match isn't my fav cup of tea. I live and die by PvP but if I'm going to get wasted and pay cBills for repairs just to see how a load out fills, I wish there was some sort of way to get a feel for it before its all on the line ya know? Taking that into effect I again wonder what else they have in store for us besides str8 PvP. This thought collection is where the survival stem spawned.

The idea of playing against an AI has a lure for many players so it shouldn't be discounted. While MWO main focus would and should be PvP there's absolutely no reason the devs can't bring in the AI Mode after the game is up and running. AI modes can bring a lot of fun to a game. That however is not to say that they should or shouldn't give players and equal amount of XP/CB's per game. Perhaps a Mechwarrior can earn as much playing in an AI game as he doe's in a PvP, but maybe that game takes twice as long for him to finish. I've played both types and find each of them to be equally as stimulating. MWO ought to be attractive to all types of players, and I support anything that supports our community and the devs ability to continue to bring us the best possible product and gaming experience.
