The new voting system is killing the game for me personally. I enjoy the many maps and play styles of this game. I have played about 25 matches since the voting patch, and the majority of them were on cold maps and skirmish. This is by far the worst thing I have seen in this game, and I don't know how much longer I can stand playing it.

I haven't spent a fortune at this game, but I do load money on my account each paycheck. That being said I won't be loading any money until I see if this horrible patch goes away.

well, i messaged 3 people at pgi about, we can only HOPE they bloody listen to our outrage and fix this. its clearly not popular with the majority, and a huge throng of people have left because of it.

Don't worry they will fix it up somehow... there are plenty of players complaining bout that already.
Although I personally love the voting option, if the majority of players don't like it ... I'll go along with that

So, Mikex, You like losing all control over the type of games you play? Did I hear you right?

I feel you are a little disingenuous when you say that, unless of course, you like to play Skirmish the best, in which case this is no big deal for you. But it is nice that you go along with everyone else that would prefer to have some control over what they play when the come to this game... Personally, I prefer to choose my play mode instead of having it chosen for me. This game is not an election it is a game - we should not have our control ripped away like this.

And yes I like to play Skirmish, but I am the kind of player who really doesn't mind playing any game mode.

The voting system is a nice idea, but flawed.

My c-bill earnings have dropped markedly due to lack of conquest matches.

Some of my favorite maps have all but disappeared, and my favorite map/mode combinations (Conquest on Alpine and T.Therma) have been absent.

If this, combined with enhanced c-bill rewards, is an attempt to get more people to play CW it does not seem to be working.

You know, I like Skirmish. I'll play it all the time. However, I do feel for those who don't like Skirmish and who play other modes. I imagine they don't like people wrecking a mode they like with skirmish play, much like I might not like others crashing my preferred modes.

The mode, at the very least, should be pre-selectable. I used to think the same for maps, but realize that doing so would be a pain for matchmaking.

All of you are overestimating the number of people who are against this. A "huge throng" haven't left. And there's no way we would ever know it's "not popular with the majority".

Even the highest-ever voting result that I've ever seen (the 3PV vote) only scored around 2,000 votes, and that is definitely nowhere near the amount of people who play the game actively on a regular basis. Even with something like 90% of those 2,000 voting against, they still released the 3PV mode ... and it didn't spell doom and gloom for the game as many predicted.

PGI has the metrics. They will collect the data and act accordingly.

Or, PGI will do what it wants as long as the Mechwarrior fans keep dropping cash for new, cool mech models. Nevermind the actual game or how matches are formed. As long as that cash money flows in, they'll implement whatever.

Sucks for those niche-mode players. Your cash just doesn't outweigh the rest.

Yeah, check the metrics of how much effort went into caustic valley and how rarely its played now.

Personally I say remove map voting. The game type voting had a purpose to get rid of the opt out. But map voting was never needed and leads to custom builds that are optimized for the 3 maps that get voted on

I am sick and tired of River City. Out of the last ten matches i played, 7 were River city. And you can forget about non-skirmish game modes. This is game-breaking.

Solution? Vote on 2 randomly selected maps instead of four (one of which is inevitably always river city, otherwise frozen city or mining collective. I can't even remember what the other maps looked like.) This should work to change it up a bit - for instance the only time i get a non-skirmish games is when the kids are forced to choose between the other two.

voting is destroying mwo. its forcing non skirmish players to play skirmish OR to go to CW for matches, and even THEN matches can sometimes take in excess of 30 to 120 MINUTES to form. Faster matches my back hatch. they are wasting time with this voting bull. did NOT work in closed beta, and wont work now. Russ has lost his mind if he thinks this crap is what we want.

While I have played less than 20 games since the voting system, and if at least mode is made completely random with no voting, I'm uninstaling, its a bit silly to use words like huge unless you have facts to back it up.

I know of none but myself who is likely to be gone over this before Christmas

im assuming you love the call of duty...blast it...battlefield...no... skirmish spam? because i sure as heckfire dont. i hate mindless whack-a-mole with reload...err thoughtless death matching. its why i left BF4. I want objectives, I want a reason to not just blow my mech to hell at match start. skirmish offers me only incentive to self destruct along with a sizeable portion of us.

Let's be honest though:

For Assault, skirmish players mostly ignore base caps and play it as a Skirmish. In fact, they gripe if you cap base.
For Conquest, skirmish players mostly ignore resource caps in and play it as Skirmish.

So when Skirmish players say they play all modes, its like someone who's variety is Skrimish, Diet Skirmish and Skirmish Light.

Just saying - you can drop in Assault and Conquest and pretty much just treat it as Skirmish. The reverse is not true.
