Great... A brand new [ Insert new hotness here ] is on the cusp of release and its got promissory of being the next best thing to wet t-shirt contests.
Go play it.
Good lord I hope everyone who plays MWO has some other form of diversion and entertainment in their lives. I hope whatever new diversion is absolutely stunning... I really do. I hope this to be the case so you'll be less inclined to carp over PGI not folding to your incessant whining and tyraids of injustice.
I'd like to think this is just new(er) players who have seen patterned history and think the way to get their way is to grouss the loudest... Sadly I'm seeing as many ensconced players attempting to ply this tired ploy as vigorously.
Seriously... take a break and dive head-first into that new diversion.
... I beg of you.

But I'm still playing witcher 3

And I'm not a fan of Fallout.
Spaceships and boats suck. I can't grind tanks past Tier 3.
There.

Except PGI literally listens to the biggest whiners. Why do you think "ghost range" lasers are no longer being pushed into production? You think PGI came to their senses on their own? It was literally a butt-load of players complaining and saying it was bad mechanic. So I hate to say it, but empirically speaking, the loudest whiners are the ones getting changes pushed through.

One can easily sweep valid complaints under the rug with strawman arguments and generic, groundless labels - such as "whining," but the reality is that there have been a good number of poor decisions made lately:
- Map voting is unneeded lunacy and removes content from the game, effectively
- Mode voting, even if needed in some form to speed up match-making, was implemented poorly
- As for the "great rebalancing" coming, a book could be written on what was on the PTS, for better or for worse, though an increasing number of players are - rightfully - angry that PGI refuses to tackle the game's main problem (long-range, perfect accuracy, high-damage alphas) and instead skirts around it with silly new rules or pretends it's not an issue at all.
On and on the list goes, but the key is that if people didn't care, these forums would be free of "whining," but the game would be long dead for lack of players.

Sadly there is still proof of this as you reference...
That said, I'm not convinced PGI even thought it was a good idea and truly just threw it out there as a litmus test.
Quit honestly... I'd like to see them do that with every halfcocked idea players have suggested just to solidify how moric they are.
Sadly that would be cost prohibitive...

Another point to consider is just because somebody repeats facts - such as the sheer idiocy of "ghost range" and how it is a sloppy, illogical mechanic that the game does not need - loudly and often doesn't mean he is whining. Is it annoying? Perhaps - but it also annoying to have to repeat facts a billion times to get them through the heads of the people in charge.
Long story short, if the developers thought things through and weren't constantly throwing out mistakes, like voting, and nuttiness, like ghost damage, people would have far less reason to have to repeat the facts again and again to them and beat them over the head until they wake up. Sure, you'd still have actual whining going on - it's the internet after all - but that's a separate issue.

The premise that people only complain when there are valid and palpable context to their points of contention is laughable...
We've had this argument before... MWO is no different that real life where the vocal minority are allowed to set the precedent while the silent majority are resigned to placate them lest they be labeled as crony lapdogs or agitators.
There are a lot of valid points that have been made be they pro or con in regards to PGI, their recent sweeping changes and direction of the game.
What I'm saying is when they are couched in meritless vitriol and idle threats they become impotent and petulant. Go play the other game...
Folks need to make a point, stand on their convictions and defend their ideals... Not "whine".

You are confusing repeated postings of facts with "complaining" and "whining," and you also ignored the key part of what I said - that people only post facts, often with anger, repeatedly when they actually care about something.
There is a vast difference between: "Whah! I hate LRM's!" and "Whah! Clans are the sux!" and people repeatedly drilling home the point about how voting is a failure, ghost-range is illogical, etc.
Believe what you want, but remember that it's always "the other guy who's whining" if one refuses to accept the difference between whining and valid complaints, or acknowledge that somebody else might be right about something.

Trust me PGI thought it was a great idea because they have absolutely no idea how their own game works. If only PGI developers understood how to play their own game remotely competently, they could analyze and predict how certain changes would affect gameplay balance. It isn't hard to predict that "ghost range lasers" would effectively nerf them into the ground and bring back PPFLD as the dominant meta.
I actually saw Russ playing in group queue yesterday. Talk about your rare pokemons...
First time I've seen his name pop up in the 2.5years I've been playing this game.

I really want to add Russ to my PGI trophy case. I had a game with Lauren the other day but Almond Brown got her before I could.

Just because you or for that matter a segment of this community believe an idea to be wrong and PGI wrong headed about it does not necessarily mean they are wrong. It means you do not agree with it. That's half the problem with community. Folks believe the minority of the forum community speaks for the entirety of the playerbase... News flash. It shouldn't.

I got the killing blow on Russ on a match where he was on the other team. Probably never going to happen again.
