I am just wondering what will happen when PGI loses it's license for this game come April 2016? Microsoft already said that the lease of the license will be over at that point, so I am wondering what will become of PGI and MWO when this happens? I can give suggestions on what you should do, ecspecially considering your dropping players like flys. One thing, and this one is going to burn, but fix the true issues and quit tip toeing like a bunch of 5 year olds. Mercs cant take planets in CW would be a quick fix I would make along with heat scale, IS power, Clan power, ghost heat, jump jets and much much, much more. To be honest, I would probably just change everything about this game and turn it into an open world Battletech game where your clan or IS. Sorry mercs, but your IS, get over yourselves. Also, taking a planet would take the faction as a whole. I would probably buy TS servers just for each faction. Yeah it would cost a lot, but the community is more important. You start with building your mechwarrior, you know, the person that is piloting the mech. Yeah, you have an actual person that is being controlled by you. you choose what your faction will be, your stats, name, all that good sauce and then you pick the first mech you will get. Then you go out and start earning money so you can build a better mech, or buy a new one. You go to arenas, or if your clan you fight for a mech, that simple. But, that is me and that is how I would do things over this mess that has been made over a game that isn't suppose to be your daddy's CoD collection, but Russ had to figure out how to make quick money.

Wow op, don't know where you got all of that info, as it was publicly stated by Russ over a year and a half ago that they leased the entire BT license off of M$ till 2020. And with both this game AND the upcoming BT game, I think your post has some serious wishful thinking based in fantasy land. (Might want to cut down on those PPC shots on Solaris VII.)

This game isn't going anywhere, and if you honestly think scrapping it and starting from scratch is the "best coarse of action," then you probably don't know how game production works on a small niche title.

<snip wall of text>

PGI has the license until 2018, with options to extend it as long as they continue to meet their contract requirements.

Nobody knows the player numbers except PGI, and they are going to get a boost come December with the Steam launch. Whether they gain players or just get a temporary boost remains to be seen.

And they have shifted a number of people to working on CW 3.0 so that should hopefully address issues with that aspect. No idea on the time frame for that though.

And please, use paragraphs/line breaks, otherwise most people won't take the time to read a wall of text.

Please use the enter key. It turns incredibly bad walls of text into something manageable and readable. Otherwise, it'll just get skipped past by a good chunk of users. Break that thing up into individual thoughts, points or arguments.

Doing so makes your point very clear and concise, so we can quickly see and respond to your argument.

Hope they work.
Jordan most likely has the licence and game for the old MWT, wich he is most likely reskining into the new BT game.. this is IMO..

Didn't get any for a while?

And this is how it really is:

Russ Bullock said:

On Nov 8th 2013 PGI and Microsoft finalized negotiations on an extension to PGI’s MechWarrior license. Whereas before our license ran out mid 2015 we are now ensured rights until mid-2018 and also if certain criteria is met will have until mid-2020 to continue to develop MechWarrior products including MWO. Needless to say this was something I had been working on for a very long time, Microsoft is very happy about how the MechWarrior brand is being re-invigorated with the new art work and gameplay advances.

That is 100% incorrect, HBS does not have the MWtactis game or license they said that on the facebook page they are building Battletech from Scratch. In fact IGP had to get the license for Tactics from PGI and that gave them final say (According to Russ on a Town Hall). I am not sure how the Licensing is working out with PGI, HBS and Microsoft.
