MAD-3R
STD 305, 3 AC2s, 4 ML, AMS
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b88d4e7dda373eb

Interesting, but it runs rather hot

MAD-3R
STD 305, 2 PPC, 2 ML, AC5, AMS
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...27294178aff9888

Surprisingly effective the one time I took it out. erPPCs seem too hot.

MAD-3R
STD 300, 2 erPPCs, 2 MPL, 3 MG, AMS
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...931b2fa12c0a519

I have not tried this build but it seems interesting.

MAD-3R
STD 300, 2 erLL, 2ML, AC5, AMS
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...c1b834b9f3262dd

MAD-5D
STD 305, 2 erLL, 3 ML, SRM4, SRM2, AMS, 3 JJ
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8e9451eb5602ba1

I have taken this one out a few times and it works very well.

MAD-5D
STD 305, 3LL, 2 ML, AMS, 3 JJ
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...159238de73f65ba

MAD-5M
STD 300, 2 LL, 2 ML, LB-10X, AMS, 2 JJ
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fffad1de576fd5f

I am not sure on this one. Putting near full armor on it really subtracts from the tonnage for weapons.

I have been sticking to STD engines and putting on at least 2 JJs on the chassis that can have them. I am also trying to run maximum armor or near to maximum armor.

I'm not happy with any of my MAR-5M builds yet. 2 AC5 + 5 M-laser was not so good or 2 LBX-10 sucked either.

I'm not exactly an expect or a pro, but here's my suggestions to try and suit your playstyle.

I never liked to run AMS on my mechs (usually radar deprivation and cover will protect you most of the time), but if you like AMS's here's a MAD-3R I built for you. MAD-3R. 2x AC5 and 4 MPL's with a 295 STD. This does more alpha damage, is much cooler and has higher DPS. You sacrifice a little range and speed, but not by much to make a difference.I never like AC2's. They weigh too much. Extra 2 tons will net you nearly double the firepower with AC5's.

This one is too complicated for my tastes. I always like to follow the K.I.S.S. - Keep It Super Simple.

MAD-5D
2x LPL, 2x ASRM6's. STD 325, 2x JJ. Also with AMS.

Instead of having all kinds of different weapons systems (2 different kinds of SRM's and 2 different kinds of lasers), just make it two. LPL's combine both aspects of ERLL and ML's. You have nice range (not as much as ERLL's, but much more cooler). Then when enemies come close, unleash your ASRM's. Don't forget to shield with your left side if you can.

If I remember right, the 5D has nice cool down missile quirks. So poke with the LPL, but brawl with SRM's. Most of your damage will be from SRM's. Especially when combined with a SRM cooldown module. Tbh, you may just want to ditch AMS and add in another ton of ammo.

Your last one had a single LPL and a single LL.

I am thinking about your 2AC5 build with 4 ML instead of MPLs.

I try to run AMS when I can spare the tonnage. It is a great way to cut down on missile damage when you are in a bad spot or a teammate needs counter missile support.

Thanks.

Doh, you're totally right. My brain is fried from work. The correct one: MAD-5D. No idea what I was thinking. Posted Image

If you drop AMS, you can do this build. This is what I run on my 3R all the time. MAD-3R. 3x AC5's, 4 ML, 295. The DPS on 3x AC5's is insane. Just keep pounding with the AC5's and shoot with ML's once in a while. This is my favorite build for the MAD series. Posted Image
