Everyone does it when its a stomp and you are lying if you are claiming you are not doing it to suicide. What other outcome are you gonna have against a 3, 4, 5 or more on 1 hitting override over and over?

I do it to deny the kill and if they kill me while doing it good for them. There should be eject like in CW so you can surrender.

It's not a lie, it's a gamble I do the same thing on occasion when there are beat up mechs near me I try and take one down with me before I expire. I know I am going to die either way, I just am going down firing rather than a shut down easy shot.

What are s the purpose of this thread again?

Is it to goad PGI into hurrying up and posting a second list of banned accounts?
Or is it to insult PGI over their inability to 100% quench cheating?

I forgot which asinine route this thread was heading toward.

I would say neither.

Why do you even care? I doubt you even have a horse in this race so why not just pass this thread by?

So the Rifleman dropped and no bans...

What next?

They probably wanted to rake in the money from Rifleman sales before they banned the accounts of people who bought them.

Well...because, in a witch hunt, those who do participate stand idly by and watch. Either they are to scared to participate, they are a witch themselves (and don't want to be caught), they have a mild interest, and/or like most humans...they have to watch the morbid nature of everyone else.

Just be thankful it isn't Ming the Destroyer in charge of the ban hammer...whole countries or continents might have been or would have been banned.

Well, I will get a grim satisfaction from cheaters getting banned and rightly so. There's also a part of me that just likes to watch a train wreck or NASCAR.

I'm not out insulting people who are active in this thread though. Honestly, I think this thread is part check-in status and part meant to keep PGI honest.

If the bans don't happen, oh well.

That would be completely epic if they revealed a $500 gold member was banned for cheating.

I know a player, having a gold mech and thousands of dollars into the game - not naming and shaming here but he more than deserved the ban...

Let me tell you this - PGI IS banning paying customers, I know first hand. Gotta give them a thumbs up for that

By that logic they'd do the same with the Archer then the next 'mech and the next. My guess is they'll do it just before the Tournament to keep those cheating scumbags from joining it. If I'm not mistaken, the Tournament is next month.

One of my buddies had his alt perma-banned for disconnecting (was trying to tank his PSR).

Just because PGI hasn't released a "public" list since last May doesn't mean they've been letting people off the hook for conduct violations.

You can try searching their name on the forums

I have never, ever been able to get the pilot search to return a result. If I search for my name? No results. Either of yours, cdlord & Graugger: no results.

Am I missing something?

EDITED TO ADD: Well, search results, obv. :)

Well,
i personally learned of the banwave from a guy who fired two alphastrikes into my back to "teach me a lesson". He read the name "Bhael Fire" on the list and that was all the proof he needed to TK me. That was just the first of a row of very unpleasant incidents that followed over the next few weeks. Actually it would have been pretty easy to proof that "Bhael Fire" and "Baelfire" are not the same person, but they just didn't care, someone had to burn, guilty or not. Apparently , in the whole history of online gaming there have never been two people with a similar name...

Tbh, I think "lynch mob" describes the behavior of these people pretty good. The sad thing is, that Bhael Fire, if he came back, just used a less suspicious name and left everything behind. He will not get punished by the naming and shaming at all, its me (and probably his unit) who has to deal with the collateral damage.

Let just hope for you that there is no Iboli, Ebole or or something similar on the new banlist, because you wouldn't like the consequences, i guess. Posted Image

Oh sh*t... you got a kill on me yesterday and I walked away from the game thinking "Crap, I just got killed by one of the guys that was on the top of the banlist." Pulled up the banlist to double check, and sure enough I saw your 'old name' on it.

I apologise for mixing you up. I feel bad for just thinking it now. Posted Image
At least I didn't just find you and TK you or something like somebody else did. Then I'd feel really bad. Posted Image

The Overheating Override Mechanic is simply neither immersive nor robust against misuse - its for the very lazy Mechwarrior...

If they wait for a month or even longer before anything happens they never should have announced it. It's just ridicoulus for legit players to know that PGI has a list of cheaters and does nothing but wait.

With more then a month of early warning the cheat suppliers can check their programs and modify them to be ready to go for the tournament. So either you ban cheaters after they get caught plus some reasonable time to get as many alt accounts as you can get or you do not announce it. How many cheaters that might fear to appear on this list will play with activated cheats on alt accounts after this announcement? So all that's happening now is give the cheaters some more time to cheat more obvious then ever, because they are already "on the list"...

Well thats a silly way of doing it, now isnt it. If you wanted to tank PSR gain for the cadet bonus (so you arent 90% of the way through T4 after 25 games), why not just go full ****** with override on every game? Can't get banned for playing like a moron.
