Same thing with my favorite one. Classic Isobaric.
The sound is just this awesome, eerie horn, but the model is this ugly looking brown and yellow speaker, that's just... Ugh...

I wish i could at least hide the warhorn model and keep the sound only.

It's a reference to the style of radios that the war of the worlds aired on.

I want Clan Wolf warhorns that actually sound like a wolf howling, instead of the...whatever it is we currently have Posted Image

I'd also like to be able to hide them.

I am of course talking about the Yardsale warhorn. Sounds great--perfect, even. Just butt ugly and feels so out of place. If PGI did hex version of all the non-Clan warhorns, I would gladly spend my MCs on multiple Yardsale.

Tweeted to Russ about it.

Option to hide the warhorns please or choose different model or something.

IMO they all sound cheese and look hideous.

Nothing says I don't give a crap about the IP than holographic dubstep speakers.

A warhorn with feathers. I hope the intern that came up with that got counselling.

Doesn't change the fact it looks dreadful and doesn't fit the rest of the aesthetic in the cockpit.

Fair enough. Just wanted to explain why it looks the way it does.

Warhorns are a cool idea, just really poorly implemented. Many of them (especially the original wave) just look stupid and out of place, so much so that they are distracting and immersion breaking. As someone already pointed out, what idiot would put the warhorn inside the cockpit? I get that PGI did it so you could see your vanity items, but it just seems utterly ridiculous. Warhorns should be heard and not seen.

But even though it is inside the cockpit, I still have the coolest warhorn of all in my DWF.

Personally, I'm baffled as to why the warhorns are visible at all INSIDE the cockpit. Half of them look absurd and totally break whatever immersion is left in the game, but they also don't make any sense. Why would a warhorn that is meant to blast out a victory noise across the battlefield be mounted INSIDE the cockpit?! That silly feature also means warhorns block some of your field of view, too. They all should have been modeled as external horns, like the ones on Heavy Metal, so that cockpit visbility would not be reduced by a pair of 1970's fake wood paneled speakers, or whatever. Admittedly, that's just my opinion, but it explains why I've never bought or mounted any won warhorns.

The warhorns make the game a lot more fun to me. A lot of them look a little weird and I do agree that the rec room and yard sale speakers are really out of place, but having them sound when I get a kill is a real throwback to the early days of RPGs and level up noises, so I have a soft spot for them. They really did make the coolest, most ominous warhorns the ugliest, though. There's no arguing with that.

Urbie war horn, deal with it!

Especially when paired with the trash can pop up standing item. Just like the "Classic" animated Phoenix is well paired with the Jade Falcon war horn.
