In the Townhall Russ basically laid the rules for any new mechs as of this post.
1. Must have existed in 3053 or before. (Min. 1 variant)
2. No new tech.

He also stated in the Jan. Townhall that after the Kodiak it'd be another IS mech (Phawk as we know) but also the next one will be Clan.

Which brings us to a simple question, which Clan mech should be next?

Battlemech? Either a medium or an assault. Perhaps the Vapor Eagle or the Supernova.

Omnimech? We still need a 20 and 40 ton mech of any sort. That means the Firemoth for the light, or the Pouncer, Coyotl, Phantom, or Viper as 3053 40-ton options.

I believe there was talk of a 4 mech Clan Omnimech pack after the Kodiak.

There was a lot of talk in both directions. It sounds like it isn't off the table, but he prefers one off packs because it frees up the developers to do other things.

OmniMech?
Night Gyr
- 75 tons with 300XL engine
- Jump Jets
- five configurations with weapons already in MWO

BattleMech?
Kraken
- three variants with MWO tech

Release the Kraken!

But honestly, we already too much heavy 'Mechs, and by that I mean Heavies and Assaults. The Huntsman (Nobori-Nin) would be a decent and interesting alternative.

God. I want that mech so much. I've been pining for it since the Clan release. Sadly, I think we need a 40 ton mech before we need this glorious piece of bad assery right here. Posted Image

I'm still hoping for a Clan Medium Omni 4-Pack. Viper, Pouncer, Phantom, Huntsman. Or Coyotl, Viper, Phantom, Huntsman. Or Pouncer, Phantom, Huntsman, Badlanner. Posted Image

I guess that you are right.

Nobori-nin could be a good equivalent to Phoenix Hawk.

Or - maybe - Stooping Hawk. But I am afraid that people would protest because it comes with SFE.

Kitchen Sink Clan Nova Cat (almost exclusive) 50-ton replacement to the Nova. Less a Clan Phoenix Hawk, more a Clan Centurion with Jump Jets. If the Centurion could load a touch more firepower than a Stormcrow. If you want to mount a weapon on it, it has an omnipod for that. Torso ballistic? Torso lasers? Arm ballistics? Arm missiles? Arm lasers? Only thing I think it is missing are torso missiles.

Hmm interesting. I didn't pay attention to that.

EDIT: ah, you mean the Stooping Hawk.

The primary configuration of Nobori-nin has missile hardpoint in the right torso. The C configuration has missile hardpoints in both left and right side torsos.

For some reason, I thought they were arm mounted missiles. Huh. Between the Prime, A, and C, you can get your 4x SRMs for a brawl fit, too, with a couple lasers as well.

My top picks for a Clan medium Omni-mech:

#1) Coyotl, 40t with a 280xl, 15t of pod space in Prime, no locked equipment.

#2) Huntsman, solid 50t with 25t of pod space, Swiss Army Knife Mech.

If I count correctly, you could fit four SRM-6s with Artemis, five tons of ammo, and about six tons of energy weapons.Naturally, you would need some freezers, but still ...

My count, too. I think you'd have room for 4 SPlas and 2 DHS, hardpoint wise. Ironically slightly less firepower than the Stormcrow, but arguably better physical design being humanoid, and having 5 JJ on a 50 ton mech means it can actually jump.

Piranha, without a doubt. Clan MG sounds too awesome not to boat 12 of them. All that firepower on a mech even smaller in size than the Commando.

Yeah, JJs would give it the advantage over Ryoken.
