I am looking to change my computer and after some searching I am thinking on buying a pre built rig because I just don't feel like mounting it myself this time and because many of the old parts of my current computer are too old to scavenge anyway and I think it's time to get a new case and PSU, also I could do without so much dust in uncleanable places :P

  • Tower Cooler Master CM Storm Enforcer
  • PSU Tacens Valeo V 700W 80 Plus Silver Modular / Tacens Radix VII AG 700W 80 Plus Silver
  • Procesor Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5Ghz Box
  • CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO / Cooler Master Hyper 412S CPU Cooler-Según disponibilidad
  • Mother Board Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3
  • HDD
    • Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB SATA3
    • Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB
  • Memory G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 1866 PC3-14900 16GB 2x8GB CL9
  • Recorder DVD Sata Negra
  • GPU MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming OC 4GB GDDR5
    • Dual-link DVI -I x 1
    • Dual-link DVI-D x 1
    • HDMI x 1 (versión 1.4a)
    • DisplayPort x 1 (versión 1.2/2.0)
***************************

Things I am interested in are:

I imagine it's perfectly capable of running MWO at 1080 max specs no problems, isn't it?

Taking in mind my current rig is ancient (AMD Athlon 640 4x + HD6770) but that I've made it run for 5 years and it has to date managed to run everything I wanted it to, even if at minimal specs (like MWO),
Would that rig I posted provide similar value in the long run?

Is any of those component of dubious reputation? A bad brand for PSU, RAM...?

Would it be worth to look for something that boated an i5 6500? Doesn't look like they are much better but... maybe in the long run??

Thanks in advance for your time.

That is a worthy machine, part by part.

Here's food for thought: you're definitely not going to be putting particles, shadows, and environment on 'very high' with the CPU at its stock speed. You're also not overclocking that CPU very far with the cooler in the description (not to mention there are definitely better cases out there that would be recommended for overclocking, too). So if you want to overclock, you're going to want a much better air cooler (top-end Noctua one, probably) or an AIO (a 240mm or 280mm one, probably).

Another thought: at this stage, Skylake chips are similarly priced to Haswell chips and they do perform better, so there's very little reason to recommend a Haswell chip over a Skylake chip now unless there's a nice discount on it.

Ok, many tanks.

I just realized the processor is unlocked, I am not interested in over clocking, I want my hard ware to have a long and uneventful life, so putting an unlocked processor on the pre built rig cost me €€€, and I could get a locked 6500 for less which would make more sense, wouldn't it?

If you're going to keep the stock clocks, yeah, I'd get the Skylake chip for sure then. What little IPC boost you can get you should take. Skylake will end up with DDR4 RAM for most builds, and you should be going with DDR4-3200 or faster (3400-3600 is preferred).

I have pretty much the same build, but the GFX and CPU spot on. If you're going to overclock the CPU, which I'm guessing why you went with the K series, go with a Coolermaster 212 Evo (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-RR-212E-16PK-R1-Performance-Universal/dp/B0068OI7T8)

I've overclocked mine safely to 4ghz with this. Could go to 4.2/4.3 if I wanted to but for own peace of mind 4ghz is good enough for me.

It's a bugger to fix on, but when on its fine.

MWO runs like a snow leopard on mine, you'll have no problems.

*edit* sorry, didnt see your post further down saying you werent interested in overclocking. you could still get a quad core cpu that doesnt overclock. this looks good, might be something else though if you look around but I'd say quad core would be best for you (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Cache-Processor-i5-6600-Turbo/dp/B010T6D39O/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1459369501&sr=1-4&)keywords=quad+core+processor

I don't know why you wanted 16GB, but I'm going with it; I don't know what electricity costs there, but I'm gon'a assume it's terrabad, and spring for a Gold Plus PSU.

The case is a HAF 912, and is what passes for cheap on that list.

I am assuming the Deepcool is worth 5 bucks over an ARCTIC Freezer i30 …

Spoiler
