This drawing is satire, right?
Tell me it is satire and your question is meant ironically.
Seriously:
I often mock many of BT's designs to look like "child toys".
But this ... this looks childish even for child toys.
If a four year old gets his hands on some legos and wants to build "a super cool shooting robot", something like that is the result. Totally overstuffed, clumsy, most probably unable to walk, even with child toy physics.
And the older kids laugh at him for that.
Can anyone beyond the age of ... 12 ... find such a drawing a "cool mech"?
Jesus ...

Oh crap, it fell from our dropship. Oh look, it's still working.Let's tell those suckers it's suppouse to look like that. What do you mean it can't walk with those legs? Of course it can!
It has lots of missiles tho.

I never made the mistake of implying that the original artwork depicted a reasonable design. I think Alex can and would make it look much better if PGI went forward with my request. While yes, it is overloaded with missiles and energy cannons that's part of the charm for me. Imagine turning the corner to a Blood Kite with all its weapons now facing you? That could potentially be far more terrifying than meeting say, a Dire Wolf.

How?... how do the legs even move/work? Are those Air conditioner units behind its toes? Was this designed by a 14 year old? It looks like a doodle i made in high school. 54 kph? I think by the looks of it should move by via plate tectonics or by scraping its massive limbs and creating a second grand canyon.
Main method of locomotion, Plate tectonics!
I ROLF'd....touche.
Blood Kite is ugly as sin, worst mech design i have seen in a long time...
Pretty much this.

Aside from the two builds among player builds that could be involved in addition to the original two I noticed on sarna.net, something about the mech caught my eye today that stands to me as a breakthrough regarding battletech history in means of unexplained technology.
The weird feet, protrusions on top of the arms that look like ammo containment units, the cockpit that sits right above the large maw like cannon piece, unusually shaped arms.... it's a tank.
The mech transforms in a way, given I'm not sure where the treads exist on the feet, maybe they pop out in some place, but the shoulder protrusions definitely appear to have treads on them. The arms look like they have the range of motion to fold opposite of their shown position to being above where the treads would sit. This kind of explains the long multijoined toes that would fold up and in upon the blood kite reversing it's legs and rotating and re folding it's arms to make tread travel possible. As a possibility, the front legs may not have treads but be suspended by a form of hover technology while the rear treads offer the ability to turn and move in a forward and backward motion.
I've loved the mech for awhile, and I was looking over it today and noticed this, as it stands out in a quite unique manner aside from its hulking appearance. Even more unique is that it's only 85 tons for all that equipment.
I'd enjoy the idea being kicked around to implement it and even give it the ability to modify itself in a sequence of undedited time into that tank mode; and back too of course. I'm just not sure why the design isn't fully explained anywhere, even cooler to me with this discovery.

But it's design is like an M.C. Escher painting.

Depending on Alex's rendition it could be pretty small for it's weight because it's so fat. It is a good concept though.

But seriously, with the new selling model it will never be in the game. They are putting out 6 variants between all the pack levels, and this one has only 2 (3 if they made a "P" variant but still)

Yeah. I'm thinking a mix of a Nova and Stalker.

Invent more variants.

It is so far from the Linebacker, actually. First, it is a Battlemech, not Omnimech.

Why is that? Blood Kite is within timeline, while Blood Asp is 10 years away. PGI already proved themselves capable of creating missing variants for timeline accurate mechs. I say the Blood Kite is far more possible to appear.

Because both have tech that isn't in the game and likely won't be. It's that simple.
