Keep in mind with the rescale, locusts are supposed to get SMALLER. An ecm microscopic thing with 4 ML going 165 is worth $5.

So I bought the Black Widow. Always liked quad AC5s on the Jager-S, and the BW seems to be able to carry such a loadout without sacrificing much. I'm just hoping that it can XL at least decently due to structure quirks.

I redid my Ilya 3 ac5 +4ml on my marauder and it did good enough while i did the basics. Dunno how the CTF(or even the MAD) chassis fare these days with all the kodiak throwing uac10 though.


Upon closer inspection of my stats, it appears i was lying and my 3R is terrible and it's my 5M and 5D that are doing good. Less than 14 match isnt a good pool for stats anyways and i clearly remember liking my 3 MAD so to hell with stats.

It is better than most hero mechs. Decent mid range or long range mech.

I run the TD with 2LP and 4ML and a std 280, max armor and rest heat sinks. I tried several other builds (8SMPL and a LPL; 4MPL and 4ML; 3LL and 4ML with varying std engines and nothing worked as well as that one (I know some folks do the metamechs build which I believe adds a ML, has a slightly smaller engine and a bit less armor, but it runs even hotter).

Though I loath having mechs with the same weapons load out, I think of the TD as the tougher more direct version of the Jester which has the same weapons but with a max XL engine and JJs it plays so differently I don't even think of the weapons being the same. Note for even greater weapons "redundancy" some folks run Sparky with 2LPL, 4ML XL300 and a couple JJ. All work really well.

i decided to throw pgi $7 and get ledgend killer. now if i could only get arround to finishing the warrior trilogy.

dont get an x5, figure thats another option for another time. i have 500 mc left over incase mech bay sale, i can get 3 more bays. i am about to win one from the merc ladder anyway.

The LB-X quirks do not look so fancy on that mech. Is it really worth to get? I'd really like to know that because I am a fan of the Rifleman

ive been having a lot of fun with lbs lately. they are still kind of a derp weapon, but i find them fun and in some cases even deadly. you kind of have to ignore the range numbers and pretend its an ac20 though. though i usually do tag mechs at range with it to get assists.

I got me a Bounty Hunter 2 with a Buccaneer Camo. So far absolutely love that mech. STD 260 Engine 3 ERLL in left arm, 3 ML in right arm AC 10 in right torso.

I picked up the Grey Death, Golden Boy and the Oxide.

Grey Death.
Running it with the XL275 it came with, AC10, SRM6, SRM4, 4 ML and a single JJ for any little hills. Even after just a few games it feels pretty tough, I am enjoying it a lot. I found it works incredibly well as a 2nd rank DPS machine following the assaults and heavies into the fray.

Golden Boy
Running it with XL290, 5 LRM5 and 3 MPL. I am not normally a big fan of LRM mechs but I am having a whale of a time with it. Sticking with the pack, firing the LRM5 when I have no line of sight then hitting them with the MPL when I can see them.

Oxide.
Running it with XL300 and 4SRM4. It feels almost indestructible and it back stabs like a boss. The trouble is the amount of the ammo is so light I either need to slow down, lose armour or drop the alpha damage to last for the whole fight. Not sure if I am going to change my fit or just live with the fact if I play vs potatoes I will achieve my maximum damage and kill potential early on.

Been hoarding my MC for a while for a 50% hero sale. Got a few solid hero mechs (Misery, Sparky, Arrow), and bought a Grid Iron just because I always wanted to play it even though it is considered "bad" now. Would have got a Bounty Hunter 2, but didn't have enough MC left. So I almost finished getting all the hero mechs I was interested in.

Didn't get an Oxide, already got Jenner IIC, would play fairly similar so I didn't bother. Plus I just don't play lights very often any more.

For people asking if Legend Killer is worth it...it's similar to the other Rifleman variants really...has high arm mounted ballistics. If you've played the others, expect more of the same with different quirks. 2 X LBX10 is fun with the quirks on LK, but isn't especially powerful. Just plain old 2 X AC10 or somesuch works good too.

Black Widow is definitely worth it, if you don't mind building it with 4 torso mounted AC5. It's like a mini version of the Mauler, but with less powerful quirks than Mauler. One of the better hero mechs imo.

Top Dog is nice, no regrets. If you liked that Thunderbolt variant with 3 LPL that clan wars seemed to dictate a while back, it´s simply more/better of the same (i.e. higher LPL hardpoint and 3 ML "panic button").

Legend Killer, just 5 Matches in now, but great fun so far and no regrets either.
