Look at the actual pattern of light and dark. They actually do resemble snakeskin. I have my nova set specifically to that effect.

Yes they are based off hexmaps, but there is a reason so many think they are snake skin

yeah but that does set up the risky P2W argument...and this time give it teeth. IMO, they have courted it with ECM Heros on mechs with no ECM "normal" models, though IDK anyone can make the argument that the Pirate Bane or Tempest are exactly Golden Ammo. But not inflating the CPLTs to match, while they have similar quirks, to boot? That is danger precedent right ther.e
