Mechassault and especially mechassault 2 were just a MT. Dew and Dorito filled michal bay fest. Didnt fallow the lore what so ever. So, the kiddies that played it had no f'n clue what mechwarrior was all about besides giant robits and bosses that made no sense. Balance? there wasnt any. In the second one the elemental was op. (lol oh nice mech lemmie hop on and pound those keys so fast you'll be ejected to the moon.) I remember multiplayer being just horrible overall. The voip if you had a good mic it was mostly static half the time anyways.

Sounds like you didn't play the multiplayer at all... But that's none of my business. As for what I stated it had more features for $60 than MWO, that is not a lie.

Imperius you can not honestly think Mechassualt is better than MWO ...that game was only a mech game and hardly related to Battletech or Mechwarrior....besides skins....

This game is just skins with an added layer of customized load outs your point?

I played MechAssault 1/2 until the 360 came out I don't know how many years that was, but I know it was a lot. PVP wise it was one of the best games I played with a good competitive community.

It had:
Single Player
Player vs Bots mode (Horde mode)
Balanced PVP
MA2 had community Warfare believe it or not
VOIP

Yes i have i would pop the game back in to show ya but i dont think the servers are there anymore. Does it have more features? yeah, but at the time it wasnt as good as you're making it out to be. I'll agree its pretty much the direction MW;O is going, super gundam arcade shooter. but you know thats none of my business.

I just think it's stupid for anyone to compare to two... Every time he makes that comment about another developer would have gave you another MechAssault all I can think... Oh so another developer would have gave us a complete game for $60 with more features than MWO??? That's my point.

FYI I alpha tested Reign of Thunder sadly Wargaming bought them and now they work on thise games and ROT was cancelled. The interaction with Day One Stuidios was night and day to PGI. Since we were their future customers and the ones who followed the company around our feedback actually mattered and was considered. Unlike here... I can't really go into detail but I can assure you. Feedback matters little here.

Im with ya on that. It is disingenuous to say "oh other companies would just give you another MA" When nearby battletech is being developed. MA would grab some attention to the console crowd that have no idea of the Battletech/MW story. More then likely it'll be like Titanfall when the hype wore off and it fell off the face of the earth.

(another developer would have gave us a complete game for $60 with more features than MWO???)

Ha! the way games are made now. They'll make a half complete game and sell you a 50 dollar "season pass" and DLC up the ying yang.

The feedback, you are just stating what everyone already knows.

Good point but the competition wasn't so many or as tough when that game came out. Never played it but heard it wasn't very good.

It had a competitive scene via Gamebattles for Xbox live. Being good is subjective.

I think MWO has good solid gameplay and I can see it's potential.
MWO is not a good game because IMO it's far from a standard finished product and the "DLC is quite high priced".

As you will see someone will disagree with me soon™

Tell me what free to play game come complete though? Or never adds more? Even large AAA titles only seem to last what 2 years if that before they are left to rot and die? Oh ok so you might bring up WoW....well even that has an expansion worth $50 or so every 2 to 3 years.....plus a sub fee (unless you got no life and can farm gold for the free tokens...) go look at WoT or WoWS or WT they are always adding new stuff, and new premium vehicles constantly, and they usually charge $50+ for a single vehicle.....Every Free to play game is always in constant development...MWO is nothing special.

Battlefield is good example of a team that adds and fixes their game over time.

The term "Free to Play" does not give an excuse for a game not to be judged over the old gold standard of single player, with PVP, with DLC... Look at TitanFall 2 they learned the hard way they needed a single player. Seems like a bunch of companies take what used to be the meat and potatoes of every game for granted. Look at Doom it's praised by me and others for a damn good single player, and an ok multiplayer (snapmap needs some help and it's getting it for free). So I don't enjoy the multiplayer in it so much and the creation mode needs some more basic functions that were overlooked. I'm ok with giving them time and still enjoy the game because it has a place for me to play that's enjoyable.

I can even go back further before multiplayer was really a thing but I it's irrelevant to this conversation.

Look, I was beyond supportive, only certain people know what transpired putting me in this mood I'm in with MWO. Those events that really could have been avoided extremely early on have lead me to hypocritically stop support via my wallet until things are in the game that I want to play. I don't know when my last match in MWO was but it definitely was a long time ago. When I have reason to play I'll play and even back pay the support. I thought feedback was enough but it really wasn't, money is the only thing that talks here.

No. As far as I know, co-op has never specifically been mentioned. Only PVE in general and a solo player campaign specifically.

In this Town Hall, Russ just confirmed that PVE and AI is currently being worked on (same thing he said the last time)

Aside from that a lot of great news.

Coop seems like minimal additional work after that, though

AI is there, Netcode is there (already), they'd just need to monetise it (though, I'd argue tying it in with your typical MP account)

Wave like survival is what I'm thinking.

Co-op has been mentioned but it was only once I think.

Thanks, AW! Looks like he really tried to get something covered for everybody.

It is easy to make empty promises.

Note the number of features that are "sometime in the future"? When do you really think you will see those? Or was it just more window dressing to keep people interested?

To answer the question look at what PGI has delivered. Six months into 2016 and the only thing on track from December is Russ' passion project, the farce that this game is somehow e-sport worthy. Ridiculous.

Enjoy the command wheel. Another feature that no one asked for like so many other features given to us in 2015.

Personally I don't see why I should be that bothered if this game was to go the mech assault way, if it was done well.

This game is pretty much over for me if it goes as far as jihad, the mechs become stupidly over powered and look like mech assault ones in any case.

The destruction of the smoke Jaguars was the furthest I ever had a desire to go, or will, and the mechs that came out with that title were replacements for the Unseen, for the most part.

I know a lot here want the jump, want the new tech, but I get the feeling that if the crusader/wasp/ stinger, and a few more old IS mech don't make the cut, my support of the game, which is riding on life support at the moment, completely dies.

I saw a few things in the town hall notes that the game needs if they come out well, I saw more that bothers me, and makes me think I should cut my loses and go.

Oh? I recall MANY people asking for a command wheel, over and over since the beginning. Even during the introduction of VOIP here many complained with some justification that people who wanted VOIP could already have it, but a command rose would allow the rest a way to communicate effectively in combat.

Like most of your salty ranting, pretending things don't exist because they're not what you personally want is disingenuous.

The MechAssault games were pretty good at what they were. Sure they were semi - canon, but had nice story, tons of action and didnt take itself way to seriously. Now I regret so badly that I didnt get MA 2 and I have lost my old MA 1 Xbox disk Posted Image

The only worry about the MA franchise, is that M$ would have continued that instead of true MW combat simulators, since thats seems to be more niche than fast arcade action. Then Halo 2 happened... one reason the whole MA ordeal went busto.

Word. I've been asking for command wheel / radio commands since... 2012, I think. A basic and important feature in CounterStrike and countless other popular FPS games.
