No it isnt, because the old spider came up to maybe the waist of the old Catapult. That Spider might come up the cockpit of the new Catapult....

You are right, it really isn't as tall, I got confused by the forum scaling one of the images down. I added a new image to OP that shows the difference between the new cat and the new spider.

I support anything that give Spider Pilots more pain. They've had it too good for too long. They play the chassis just to exploit its exploits. I don't feel bad. Its about time.

I can't really comprehend your hate for Spiders, their firepower is much too low for them to pose any real threat. I think this increase in size might wipe them completely off the battlefield.

At the end of the day, NONE of the mechs needed to get bigger, but they ALL needed to get far smaller then they did get.

THe Warhammer now TOWERS over the Catapult.....

Are you arguing that mechs are too big compared to the environment, or what? The rescale was meant to adjust their sizes RELATIVE TO EACH OTHER, so obviously some will get bigger, unless you take the smallest one as template.

Relative to each other is meaningless.

Did the projectiles get larger? How about Laser beams, do they spread more now?

What about missile spread patterns? Are they wider?

No?

Well guess what, many mechs got larger with more surface area relative to the weapons that hit them.

Did cover get larger? How about the world environment?

Mechs got larger relative to their environment.

This is a nerf, mech survivability and playability have been nerfed by these changes.

"unless you take the smallest one as template"
Call me a hopeless optimist, but that was what I was hoping for.

The lolcust got smaller and the urbie barely changed, and the Commando DIDN'T change. The three literally smallest 'Mechs in the game.

Just exactly which 'Mech were you hoping they'd pick as the base-line? Because you got just about as good as you could have hoped for.

I find it hilarious that people don't get this, or outright ignore it.

Yes and even the smallest of the mediums and heavies was still like 2-3m to tall before this rescale.

Going by that chart PGI had on the rescale patch notes, the Catapult is now 14m tall, that is how tall an Atlas should be. Look at the size of the Atlas compared to the catapult right now, its nearly 2x its height. A Warhammer is like 1 1/2 Catapults tall now. The lights being around 8m tall is correct, but the rest of the classes are way to damn big now. The Catapult shoulda been the reference point. Atlas, 14m, Warhawk: 12m, Centurion, probably 10m, King Crab, probably 12m, Timberwolf and all those Clan heavies, 12m. Yeah.....

It was an impartial update. It wasn't a balance pass to ensure viability of chassis or to nerf others.
