Do you remember Minimapocalypse? Not so long ago... worst f*ckup of the game I seen.
It can always get worse...

I have to hit your gut with a sledgehammer then. I LIKE it! Well, pretty indifferent actaully. I see the pros and cons with bot hte old and new. And they will improve it.

In fact, it might be a "cheap" way to bring in the info to warfare, but now theres a tiny bit reason to use scouting to find out which direction the enemy are facing. Though the direction your teammates are heading. Well that should be visible.
Team shares such things right?

Hang on.... A compromise would be. Hide the direction for the enemy but let teammates direction show all the time. Enemies direction should only be visible on mini-map with UAV, tagging, narcing maybe etc. And lights are the best to do it since they are the fastest.

My short summary.
Some are so salty and jaded that they are beyond saving, some are so blindly devoted to mwo its actually scary. And then..
Then theres the open minded, constructive gray guards trying to keep a clear head and make sense of it all Posted Image

And yay! Skilltree! Cant be worse than what we got (good grief the grinding). BUT I will stay carefully optimistic Posted Image

The problem with bodies of salt water is they will only continue to get saltier over time due to evaporation unless some fresh water is introduced.

I'll just write this here, because I don't know where else to put it. I just want to write some honest, constructive, civil feedback about the state of the community, and that sort of stuff doesn't seem to have its own place on the forum.

Long version

Spoiler

TL;DR version!
  • One major reason why the community (especially on the MWO forums) is so disgruntled is the lack of communication and lack of information about future content.
  • A lot of people feel like PGI is investing less in MWO and that things are slowing down. This makes the players hesitant to invest more money.
  • The community needs a community manager that regularly interact with players on the official forums.
  • In order to give the players faith in future content, we need more information. These short roadmaps about future mechs and small updates aren't enough. We need to know more about the big features, like PVE, Solaris, Infotech, Skill trees, etc. Give us something to keep faith in the game, give us something to talk about besides mech packs and small fixes here and there. Give us something to look forward to.

Nope, would you like to buy a mech pack!?!

YES !! Me too.. a gamemode with true respawns which would drastically increase playtime especially for newcomers because after they die with their first personal mech they dont have to wait for 15 min to play again with it.
And if you dont like respawn just do play other game modes. But all those respawn haters you'll see. Sitting more time in a cockpit is much more fun than watching spinning wheels going round and round and round....

sorry but to me respawns are the antithesis to the immersion a Mechwarrior game should have.

But since this is scarcely a mechwarrior game anymore, but a bald grab to play Call of Mechs: ESports (NORLY!!!) Edition.... they might as well add it. At least then they will have picked an actual direction for this game..... and I'm probably only here (barely) until HBS sends out Closed Beta invites.

After which? Add respawns, Ammo Reloads, Health Packs, Healer Mechs, and Power Ups galore. I certainyl won't be here to care.

No mate you didnt like the ORIGINAL new minimap without directional arrows and without rotation based on your mech's heading. Don't lie to me...
The current minimap is ok though since it (still/again) has directional arrows and rotation based on your mech's heading.

Oh! Sorry, I misread. Darn yeah. I thought you meant the new minimap change as a whole inlcuding the quickfix.
No the version before the quick fix was... lets say headache inducing. Im usually very adaptable, but to adjust to no rotation was kinda hard, agree on that. Sure would grow on me havent they changed it, but pretty happy they did.

Truth to tell, while it certainly was not an "improvement" (how the heck Russ thought we'd be excited for it, IDK..) it also made like...literally Zero impact on my game play, and I generally live and die by my minimap.

While it was poorly done and stupid, it didn't have near the impact on the game, realistically that Heatscale, or the AntiPoptart Nerfs did. Or Even Gauss charge Up (where even the King Comps whined they were unusable.... until the ACs got vel nerfed, then overnight figured out how to use the Gauss)

Oh come on Bishop.. what is so non-immersion about being dropped with a drop ship on different locations with different mechs in the SAME game? Why do you need spinning wheels and loading screens and other stuff in between to increase your immersion? Are spinning wheels really that sexy?
Where is the immersion as a newcomer that when you die you have to wait for 15 min to get the next game?

And as I said earlier, if you dont like respawn play a game mode that does not have respawn,
which would be exactly what we have right now.

The turning point of this game was the clan release and its been a long downhill coast ever sinse. People are gloomy cause instead of making the game people wanted and or expected for whatever reasons, PGI appear to be ****** the ip for everything they can while the gettins good. Sad thing is there seems to be a never ending stream of people who are stupid enough to give money to it, myself included, and we are the reason its all happening. Dont shoot the messenger Posted Image

Edit: you lot got 13 posts in the time it took me to writ ethis so yeah maybe it already got said

And did you not bother to read the other half? I want them to add it. Because it will at least keep true to their goal to be an Uber Esport.

I just wont be here playing it. But then, I barely play anymore anyhow, because this game is stale, and general state of play and MM BAD.

Sadly true. I haven't bought a Mechpack of any sort since the KDK...and even that I regret heavily. Yet I look at the specs on the new Scorch Hero..and have an urge to buy. *SMH*

And even not playing anymore... I know like an idiot, I would buy an Assassin, Crusader or Thug, instantly.

*sigh*

looks identical on my screen....

and since i don't waste time on FW, I when I do play, I never wait more than 2 minutes between matches, and usually am in in under 30 seconds.

There is another problem coming for this game. If you like battlemechs and dont care about the format, for the price of one mechpack you can go somewhere else to get your fix.

I dont want to turn MWO into another mech shooter with power ups.
Just increase play time and reduce spinning wheels.

I want to crouch behind a building for 10 seconds and have all of my bullet wounds magically heal.

I know, I know. Its a TOTALLY different developer (1 year younger than PGI) and game genre. But what Unknown Worlds did regarding transperacy and communication with the players is nothing short of awesome. Imagine if PGI could do such a thing with trello from the get-go (now its to late isnt it?)

https://trello.com/b...ica-development

You see? And players send immediate feedback, in-game with reports on Xbox 1 and PC. Now that the best efficiency I've seen between developers/publishers and the players in quite a while.

Would love to see a similar approach with PGI. Can only dream......
