This post covers all the information necessary setting up and accessing the Public Test client.
Please note that Public Test Sessions are not always running. Attempting to access the PTS when no session is underway will result in a connection error.
Any ongoing Public Test Sessions will be announced on the front page.
• Download and run the MechWarrior Online Portal.
• If needed, you can find steps for installing the Portal here.
• Once installation is complete, run the MWO Portal.
• Select MWO Public Test from the list of clients on the left.
• If an existing Public Test install is detected you will simply need to run the latest patches to update your PTS client.
• If no PTS install is detected, you will be prompted to install the PTS.
• Once the MWO Public Test client is installed and/or updated, you should now have access to the Play button.
• Click Play!
1) Log-in with the same e-mail and password as your Live account. Note that if your login credentials have recently changed, you may need to use your previous credentials for logging in. This is due to the fact that the PTS servers are 'cloned' from the live servers at specific points in time.
2) Read the latest PTS information post for a rundown on what we're testing.
3) Provide any feedback you might have in the dedicated Public Test Discussion Forum!
• Your login information for the PTS client will be the same as your Live account login information.
• Each PTS account will typically be provided with currency and Premium Time to aid with testing.
• Any actions you take inside the PTS client, such as spending MC/C-Bills or customizing your 'Mechs, will not carry over to your Live account.
• The account that is used for your access to the PTS client is a 'snapshot' of your standard Live account.
• Any changes you make to your Live account while we are running the PTS session will not carry over to the PTS.
• New accounts that have registered after the above 'snapshot' time will not be able to access this PTS session.
To prevent any confusion with the Live environment, all discussion of this PTS session should go into the Public Test sub-forum.
We request that you please only use the Public Test sub-forum for constructive feedback and discussion of this PTS Session.
Please do not submit any support tickets regarding issues with this PTS Session.
